Title: Parts mountain
Post by Highlander on Aug 22nd, 2007, 7:57pm
Right folks I am moving house in the next few months and dont think i'll be able to keep/store all the Scorpio parts I have accumulated over the years  ???

Alastair is going to get a load of 2.3 parts once i sort them out (he doesnt know about it yet) ;)

At last count I had 8 Scorpios four of which are roadworthy which I will be keeping and parts from at least half a dozen I have stripped.

I have no diesel or 8v stuff  but i do have pretty much everything else

Stuart

Hi Highlander.
Do you have a VSS unit for a 16valve 95 Ultima, I bought one from a guy on the forum, this was on the 7th July, am still waiting he said he had sent a second one beginning of August, still waiting, I have been in touch with Snoopy and Scorpoiman about this, the guy said today he will send another one within a week, but I will not hold my breath.

Hi there.Just had to replace ALL 6 of my injectors & had to go to a local bosch agent as the main dealer recons they are no longer available >:(.The bosch agent had to cross referance them because he also didnt have any available  :o To cut a long story short i had to pay ....£31 EACH (inc vat) on an exchange basis. :'( :'( :'(. That said though they are a slightly higher flow & as a result the car pulls like a train (& the fuel gauge drops like a stone)  :'( :'(

Hi Bob, not got a spare one sorry,
i do have a 2.3 diff spare though but its a 3.91 not a 4.27 so you'd be slightly slower taking off but better for cruising  ;D

Title: Re: Parts mountain
Post by Big_Green_Tank on Jan 15th, 2008, 3:38am
Better for for cruising?
Would that give better MPG then?
Over read or under read?

Bob

Title: Re: Parts mountain
Post by Highlander on Jan 15th, 2008, 9:38am
Slightly better, I reckon you'd be about 9% less revs for the same speed, handy if you do a lot of motorway miles :)

The speedo reading will read higher with the 3.91 so if you didnt change the VSS your speedo would be reading almost true  ;D

Title: Re: Parts mountain
Post by Highlander on Jan 15th, 2008, 10:42pm
Different ratios

Diesel is 3.36
2.9 12v and 24v use a 3.64
2.3 has a 3.91
2.0 8v is 4.09
2.0 16v is 4.27

Hi, Highlander, would you by chance have a radiator grille for a1998 2.3 Ultima?
(The facelift model grille with the Ford badge in the centre)

My Bonnet release mechanism stopped working and my mechanic who was going to replace it, tells me that the release lever is attached to the grill but has broken off - hence my need for a replacement.

Many Thanks,

Title: Re: Parts mountain
Post by Highlander on Jan 19th, 2008, 8:30pm

If you cant find a diesel diff (3.36) use a 2.9 one (3.64)
