Title: Re: Diesel Post by Matt on Oct 21st, 2007, 7:28pm right then, got the car today, does go well! its a basic scorpio diesel thats had some factory upgrates such as climate controll (for rear screen headed cars only) and crusie controll. clothe interiour in VGC its done just under 102000, engine smoked a bit when started but it has been stood in a field for 3 months, and its got better as it ran, no smoke at all when i had got it the 30 miles home, haveing never driven the diesel before i dont know what its acts like when the turbo kicks in? should there be a noticable kick or is it a low pressure turbo and works but no real kick to it? (i couldnt feel any kick) i must say its a lazy car, 70mph and only 2250rpm!! the gear box is great, which makes me happy as thats what ive bought it for! |

Title: Re: Diesel Post by Matt on Oct 22nd, 2007, 1:22pm i was thinking of selling the lump whole, whats your altenator like? this has a brand spanker on it, but wasnt there 2 types on the diesel? if yours work i dont mind swapping ;) if anybody intersetd in the engine, £200 but for that you'll get everything but the box, (intercooler and water rad with fans included, header tank, power steering pump, altenator (if highlander doesnt pinch it :P)intake and exhaust manifolds (cat is sold!!) and the engine its self) |

Title: Re: Diesel Post by Highlander on Oct 22nd, 2007, 4:30pm Mines isnt working, thats why i want yours lol ;D |

Title: Re: Diesel Post by taliban aka Cheekyboy2 on Oct 22nd, 2007, 7:13pm yeah they apparently used 2; the early one being 75 amp couldnt really cope so a 120 (might've been 125) was then used..... |

Title: Re: Diesel Post by Matt on Nov 13th, 2007, 6:19pm it is a bit but it its been stood in a field for ages, and the altenator isnt wired up right so i dont think its injecting properly as is gets rought when the battery is dieing, driving it home the engine got better, so a good service and some injector cleaner should do it a world of good if your local pop round and i'll run her up for you im in birmingham |

Title: Re: Diesel Post by Matt on Dec 27th, 2007, 6:24pm heya, well after playing around with car i sorted the charging problem, then i decided to try out my new polishing mop and driver, the car cleaned up so well that ive decided to restore her rather then break her, ive got a wing and most of the bits to sort the niggely bits out, what i do need is a header tank, and 2 x 12 spoke wheels if anyone has them http://i17.tinypic.com/8a56ckz.jpg |

Title: Re: Diesel Post by LiverpaulH on Jan 2nd, 2008, 2:04pm That's polished up well matt. Have about 8 spare 12 spokes at the moment so can source a couple of decent ones out for you if you are interested. Paul |
