Title: Breaking a 2.3 Ultima saloon
Post by r33per on Oct 22nd, 2008, 9:15pm
Hey folks.

The Scorpio is in her final resting place! :(

She's a 2.3 Ultima saloon S reg, but pre-facelift, the light blue-grey colour. Due to a previous altercations with a fence post and a towbar (don't ask...) the front and rear bumpers are a darker blue.

Everything is up for grabs, apart from the front seats because I fancy them in either in my front room or at my desk...

Also, I'm a complete car novice (I'm sorry? A what-ifold?) so I might end up asking dumb questions about exactly which bit etc.

Last but not least, I must give my thanks to the forum admins and fellow users for their help and advice during my ownership of the Scorpio. Without a doubt, some of the monies from bits sold will get put to the Ford Scorpio Forum because (as I'm sure that you will all agree) it is a fantastic resource for us.

Hi

I might need an inlet manifold.  (Big. black plastic on top left of engine as you look at with the bonnet up.  All the fuel injection system is bolted to it)   Whereabouts are you?

Rgds

Simon

Have you got the air con compressor still or would it be the same as a 2.0 l engine?

Steve,

Not sure, I'm afraid, although I should expect so. Can you guide me to what I am looking for?

Cheers.

if you stand facing the engine, on your right hand side low down at the front with a pully on the front of it
attached to a drive belt is the a/c compressor,
Steve

But bear in mind it is ILLEGAL as well as dangerous to your health to release the gas in the system into  the atmosphere

The actual gas isn't green, it's the fluid that is dyed green. If you release the gas pressure from the low pressure valve then it will only hiss into the atmosphere...... Don't look over it though, otherwise your eyeballs will freeze  ;)

Hissing into the atmosphere eh ! conjours up many happy thoughts ! Beware of the gas police who may be lurking round the corner to slap some atmospheric pressure on you  ;D

Hi, Do you still have the front indicator lights and fog lights unit available? If so, I'd love to hear from you.

Regards,

Neil W.

Blow, just beat me to the indicator lights and fog lights ! :)

How about those little grey clip thingeys that hold the sun visors in place. I could do with two of those if you have them ?

A local A/C specialist may be interested in taking the gas out for you as it can be re-used  :-/
