That is the 12v one, he's got it wrong. New 24v water pumps are almost if not already unavailable from Ford, they'll tell you they can get one but they usually cant. Plus IF you can get one you're looking at £150 plus... £100 for this one looks a good buy ;) I have a couple spares hidden away but i think i'll be starting to modify the 12v one next time i need one. |

Try £169 + vat :o and still available without delay ;D [] £100 is a bargain and I too have never seen one new for £50. There have been (trying now to remember correctly) four supersessions on the finis number of this pump in it's history and the one here for sale is the very latest one. |

Title: Re: BNIB Cosworth Water pump Post by Baz on Aug 23rd, 2009, 7:15pm Can we try and keep our facts correct on here chaps? We all know that Cosworth water pumps are NOT available for £50.00 so please make sure you know what you are saying is correct before offering advice? The Cosworth engine as a whole is getting harder and harder to get new parts for as Ford don't need to bother now that the last cars are older than 10 years old (although they have been getting difficult to source parts for for a few years now) My own Cossie waited months for a thermostat 4 years or more ago and finally succumbed to a busted hose which Ford were unable to source. Because the engine was never used in any other car, an d was put into the most unpopular Ford model in decades; pattern part makers don't tend to bother making parts for them either. If you find a good spares car, buy it and strip it to get your parts!! |

Title: Re: BNIB Cosworth Water pump Post by dml316 on Aug 31st, 2009, 12:05pm Hi Mowgli, I'll take that water pump off your hands if you still have it. My car has sprung a leak and water going in comes straight back out! Can PM through here - or just drop me a line 07803 177953 (Darren). Thanks |

Title: Re: BNIB Cosworth Water pump Post by Baz on Aug 31st, 2009, 5:01pm Darren, have you checked the radiator for signs of damage or ballooning or the hoses (particularly the one through the cylinder head?? The rads or hoses are a far more common source for water loss on the Cosworths than the water pump |
||||
Title: Re: BNIB Cosworth Water pump Post by dml316 on Aug 31st, 2009, 7:09pm Hi Baz, Yeah - I wish it wasn't, but I'm pretty sure it's the waterpump. Even without the engine running or anything, the water runs straight through the header tank and drips out the bottom of the car. Rad looks ok, hoses look ok, and the leak doesn't seem to be coming from either of the 2 hoses ging to the pump. Not sure if the pump spindle has had it - but I love the bloody car so much I'll pay for a new pump just to keep it going! If the old pump comes off and is good - I'll offer it up to anyone else on here that may need one to keep their car on the road. Best regards Darren |

Title: Re: BNIB Cosworth Water pump Post by Highlander on Aug 31st, 2009, 7:11pm can you see where its dripping from?? You would see it if it were the pump. More likely to be one of the hoses on the thermostat i''d think |
