Hi

Am new to Scorpio ownership and seem to have been on here too much already!! I am losing PAS fluid and around the pump seems wet. Before I investigate has anyone got any likely tips about this sort of thing, and where should I look for trouble?

If you want a pump I have one but check the surrounding pipes & connections to the pump first as it's not often a pump fails?

incidentaly, what would a noisy pump mean?

First thing int the morning when its cold, my PAS sounds like an old football fan clacker! It has fluid + no leaks ???

LOC - try bleeding it. Place magazines or similar under the front wheels to act as turntables (so as not to rub the tyres). Turn the steering wheel from lock to lock slowly several times with the engine running. This gets air out of the system

A common leak comes from the pipe splitting just below the fluid reservoir and running down to the pump area

Thanks folks, I will have a look around the reservoir first, come to think of it, it might be something simple like that as the pipe from the reservoir looks a bit wet near the top. I didn't imagine that could be the source of the leak as it isn't under pressure?
