Hi can any of you help my loom has just disintergrated,
have tryed to repair,
sky ford in hemel tell me there £1,614 for a new one
any body no the right price

I replaced my loom last year on a 97 Cosworth I think it cost around £400 from fordpartsuk.
Contact Trevor via the link and he will quote you.
They are very good. with prices alot better than the local stealers!
You will need the special ford grease for the connector pins to stop corrossion. Some of the pins are gold plated.
At that price you would think the whole loom was gold plated!

hi aready spoken to them they said only the fuel shut off loom is available .u dont have the finnis num

and was your loom the whole one from the side of the engine to the gearbox

I have just sold my car and gave all the paperwork to the new owner.
My notes on this matter suggest it my be Finis Code 1003231 Wire Assy. Valve Assy. Fuel Shut-off. Wire assy-24v Cosworth.

The loom that fordpartsuk first suppled to me was the main front Harness with Finis Code1041429 Wiring Ass 016 which I returned to them as incorrect. This had all the wiring leading up to the two brown multi pin sockets.

The special grease is Finis 5 030 186 Myogel 760A (Terminal plug Grease)

Yes the loom consists of the two large brown multi-pin plug connector, sensor plugs, injector plugs, and the the gearbox multi-plugs etc..

It may be possible to purchase the loom you mentioned from fordpartsuk and if incorrect return for credit.

I would ask them does it have two large brown multi-pin plugs with the securing bolt through the centre. If so its a good chance its the correct item..

I am confused which loom is it ,I am after the one that runs between the heads with all the fuel injection leads ect then on to gearbox ,you say the one you sent back had the two big connections with the bolt in the middle and fuel injection leads ect
so which finnis num do I order ,

Hi Trev.
The loom that I sent back had the two brown FEMALE plug sockets and was the complete front loom minus the loom that goes to the engine and gearbox.

The correct one that FPUK then suppled has two brown MALE plugs with bolts through the centre that plugs into the above loom. This was the correct loom that goes to the engine and the gearbox..

As i Said it looks like Finis Code: 1003231 Wire Assy. Fuel Shut-Off. Wire Assy 24v Cosworth..

I do not have any original invoices with me as I gave them to the new owner. Just a few notes regarding this loom. Most probably some body on the site can verify the part number..

That price of £1614 is for the main car loom not the engine loom.

Should be around £350 as Mike says.

How bad is your old one, I would advice repairing it if not too bad?
Almost all 2nd hand ones are no better usally & new is alot of dosh >:(
