Whoah close escape on ebay in the middle of the night! I'd bid on the lights and my top bid was approaching £200. So then I get an email at 11.30pm from a mate in the motor factors industry who says "you did'nt bid on those lights did you?" and I'm like yeah and then he tells me he can get them new direct from Ford for a smidge under £200. NEW! I have never been so relieved to be outbid ever!

I'm glad you were outbid too!!!

The Ford dealer prices for the lamps are:
RH                      (Finis 1059148 ) £92.21
LH                      (Finis 1059151) £92.21
Centre Bar         (Finis 1059448 ) £77.39
Gasket RH          (Finis 6988037) £9.72
Gasket LH          (Finis 6988037) £9.72
Gasket Centre   (Finis 6988038 ) £4.08
Bulb Holder (8 )  (Finis 6988041) £35.28
Bulb Holder (4)  (Finis 1048267) £21.68

Making a grand total of £342.29 so all in all the winner got a good deal. Granted they may not need to buy the bulb holders and things if they upgrade to new rear facelift ones but then again, fords have a habit of having things on back order for months for the Scorpio (I waited 6 months for a Cosworth thermostat last year) and you try and get a genuine set of interior premium overmats....none left (except for the new set I bought off Craig!) so some people take the chance and buy when they can ( as I do myself!) Good luck sourcing them from Fords!!

Hi 24vGaz

Sorry - I maybe a bit late in asking this now but you said you have 2 facelift rear lights and that the nearside is perfect.

Do you still have this one ?

Thanks

Daren

Reasonably priced as well :)

£17.55 to post it? I sent a full set for £9.98......another example of Steve Savilles rip offs.

It is reasonable till you add the postage

Title: Re: facelift rear indicator cluster
Post by jonnycab on Jun 22nd, 2006, 9:42am
Yea...I must admit, the postage cost is a bit extravagant, but the price of the lights seem good compared to some other prices he wants for stuff.
A lot less than you sold a set for...eh Baz ;) ;)

I went to see Steve Saville last week about getting a diesel 'box and prop as he's 2 miles down the road from me and he had 7 Scorps in his yard, with another 8 being delivered during the week  :o

He was saying that he had a a/c compressor up for £95 on ebay and that other ebay sellers were selling theirs for a tenner and he was wondering why his wasn't selling! 2+2=5  ;)

If he's got any sense then he will drop his prices (can't see that he offers any kind of parts guarantee). He may find he will sell more & gain a little more respect.
I checked his feedback history & he buys non runners for peanuts.

I have seen Steve's rear lights on e-bay - hence, the reason for asking 24vgaz if he still has the nearside one which he says is in good condition. I can collect a full set using Steve's auctions as well.

Just a bit worried about what damage there is to the centre bar that Steve is mentioning on auction, but to be honest, I only work 10 mins down the road, so won't be worrying about postage costs and what condition the bar turns up in - I'll either take it/leave it while I'm there.

Incidentally, I have changed tack and now searching for second hand lights. I spoke with the Ford dealer 4 weeks ago to order them for me -- and yes, there are some left in the Daventry Ford Parts compound.

Dealer told me to leave it 2 weeks and they'll be in. Perhaps they're hidden or out of the way somewhere in the compound ?? :D :D Hmmmm ....maybe or perhaps the Daventry Parts database is not strictly telling the truth.

JC, It is a lot less than I sold my immaculate set of facelift rear lights for, but my reserve for the whole set was only £55.00 with postage of £9.95. A brand new set was recently bought by a member on unleashed for a mere £189.00 but at the end of the day, mine was an auction and people bid on what they want at a price they want to pay. If the winner had only bid £60.00 he would have won mine.....plus Steve Saville doesn't give stuff away like I do either!!! ;D ;)

I still have a few facelift rear lights and bars, but if he is charging that much, I might just wait and see how much they become worth!
