hi got a chance to buy a scorpio2.3ghiax estate on an s plate with melted pistons the rest of the car is a1 with 12 months test has any one got an engine (manual) and how much . also how much do you think the car is worth 120000 miles colour silver

try to find 2.3 engine is like looking for rocking horse droppings, i posted for one last year with a parts finder company and only had one reply and that turned out to be a duffer. 200/300for parts

Keep looking they are out there, I have two spares ready for rebuilds now, One went pop this time last year while going on my holiday, Spent the best part of £1,000 on it before it went though :'(
Got another for £50 but found that to be on it's way when I drained the chocolate milk out of it, I was told this was a good un :( :'(
So at least one will be good when finished ;)
Replaced the first one about six weeks back now and all seems fine at the moment.

THE CAR IS NOW MINE ;D :D ;) :) I WILL SPEND A COUPLE OF DAYS LICKING IT
before deciding what to do about the engine the posting by matt looks to be an auto which i have been told will not fit. will an engine from another ford fit i am not in a panic because i am off on hols soon david

Take off the gearbox, torque convertor and flywheel and replace with your flywheel clutch and box ;D
Thought that was not a bad price considering a replacement head will cost over £400 without fitting and gaskets, An inlet manifold was £230 2 years ago and then they supplied me with one that was only half finished, no brass inserts at all :o >:(

hi found engine and it should be here next week thanks for the help the chap on e bay is related to ford uk i think they charge about the same price :o i will let you know how it goes
