Title: 2.3 inlet manifold
Post by jonnycab on Aug 22nd, 2006, 1:33am
Anyone got a good 2.3 inlet manifold, for an honest price.
Got to be a good one as it's going on my Taxi.
If you are local to me (South Essex) & going on holiday soon then I could swap a free airport run for it :)

I think a brand new one from Ford might the best idea, considering the mileage I do.
It would be false economy to fit a second hand one & have to replace it again in...say...6 months time. ;)
Unless anyone has got one that's never been fitted, or has only done a few thousand miles? :)

If you get one from Ford make sure the brass inserts are in it, The first one they suppllied me with was only half finished and didn't have any inserts or gaskets installed.
Cost £230 approx two years ago.

Hi jc, i went down to fords a while to ask how much one would be for craigs motor on discount, came to about £170. Ford parts UK might do one cheaper, if not i think you live somewhere nearish me and could get you one if need be...

Just found out that FMD want £215 + VAT. That's £250 for an old item that they have no call for anymore. I think it's about time that Ford had a sale of old stock.
Anyway.....I'm b****red if I'm paying that kind of cash to Ford for a piece of old plastic that's been sitting on the shelves for the last 10 years.
So I'm back in the market for a second hand one.
Ford could sell these direct on Ebay.....but I assume they think that Ebay is below them.
All it would take is some Ford director to think.....yea......we've got loads of these.....instead of throwing them in the skip we could flog them on Ebay.

Fords are massive.....but Ebay is getting bigger every day ;)

Baz......have you stripped that 2.3 yet?

Going on the Saturday. Not looking forward to it though, I had booked and prepaid for a room at the Park Lane Hilton for the weekend when he was at Wembley but because of the bunch of tossers they have building the new stadium, I have had to give the rooms away to my spotty 20 year old son and his girlfriend who are taking the weekend at my expense while I end up in bloody Milton Keynes with a bunch of concrete cows and 3000 roundabouts!
