Title: Passenger side seat panel
Post by Kjetil S on Sep 28th, 2006, 10:13am
Hello,

I'm in need of a passenger side seat panel for a fully electric seat (preferably with surrounding trim, also preferably in raven  ;))

Yes, it's the dark grey  (almost blackish) ;)

It's the buttons and trim which you can see here (http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/manual/interior/seat/fseatswitch.pdf)

Interesting point here when you talk about passenger side are you talking yours or ours?

Cos there will be lots of UK drivers side switches that will do the trick for you.

I know that there are folk over here who would love to do the same thing with European drivers side switches for our passenger seat. Whats availability like for those in Norway?

UK passenger side (which I emphasized in the PM to chaps, and he said he had one, so)

I believe most Norwegian scorps are "GLX" which includes a semi-electric drivers seat and a fully manual passenger seat. Besides, the price of a used scorp in Norway is still too high for people to break them for spares. (A good one goes for £5000 or more, and no, I'm not kidding)

Nice one.

Just wondered if we had found a potential source of UK passenger side conversion donors ;D

Maybe Germany? Don't know what price range they're in there, though. :)

Wow! :o £5000 is that for a cossie ultima? If so what year are we talking?
If that's the case why aren't Scorps on E-Bay being snapped up by scandenavians(Spelling?). Can't cost all that much to jump on a ferry to/from Hull?

I'm sure there's some tax/import/registration thing which means you cant do it

A large fee for registering imports? something like that..

Cossie ultimas cost more.. £5000 is for a good 2.3 or TD with Ghia-X or similar specs. (Condition obviously has a lot to say)

And here's why (nearly) noone imports one cheap from Germany or other countries in Europe. (Just put a 1997 Cossie Ultima through a customs duty calculator.)

Weight duty:            £ 14 430      (2125 kgs)
Engine volume duty:      £ 9 754      (2995 ccm / 182,766113563723 cid)
Engine power duty:      £ 8 213            (152,88 kW / 208 hk)
Sub total:                  £ 32 398
Duty basis:            £ 32 398      100%
Deduction:            - £ 20 411      (9 yr - 63%)
Scrap veh. dep.:       £ 107
Sub total:                  £ 12 094      (Payment upon first registration)
VAT:                  £ 411            (1646*25% Payment upon import)
Total:                  £ 12 506      (This is the duty, which comes in addition to the cost of buying and shipping the car)
