Title: Re: Flanges from nackerd 24V cats Post by twinturbo on Oct 13th, 2006, 11:36am Flush to the start of the cat would be best... Then I have plenty to extra to just in case I make a mess... You should get £40-£50 scrap value on the monaliths BTW... Rob |

Title: Re: Flanges from nackerd 24V cats Post by twinturbo on Oct 13th, 2006, 11:46am Me either.... Scrap man came knockng one day. I had some Granada 24V cat's that were no use to me.. got £30 and they are quite small aparently... Have a look in your local free paper for people buying scrap for cash.. It's the platinum coating that they recover and we all know what that is worth!! TT |

Title: Re: Flanges from nackerd 24V cats Post by howiedintheplace on Oct 14th, 2006, 9:20pm Yeah TT is so right. Basically a striped Scorpio with all the bits not worth keeping left on & the alloy separated from the steel etc is worth £150. That's what I got for my last one ;) But remember it's a fair bit of work to strip a car. Copper pipe is the real money spinner at the moment. |

Title: Re: Flanges from nackerd 24V cats Post by cossie_al on Oct 14th, 2006, 11:20pm Now then, As above for TT yesterday I cut the flange off one of the cats that I removed from my car when I got new ones for the mot and gues what was inside.................. NOWT! :o So that leads to an obvious question where is the monalith. My gues is its further back down the exhaust blocking the silencers, Looks like I will have to take the pipe off and sea if it rattles >:( >:( >:( |
