Looking for a rear view mirror for my Ultima 1996 which has gone misty round the edges and the front fog lamps as both mine are a bit cracked.

Mike, Welcome to the site from another East Sussex owner. If the mirror is 'cloudy' read THIS (http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/pcmirror.htm) and take note. If the thing leaks it will cause untold damage to the trim. The advice is get it off before it can happen. The mirror is removed by pulling it DOWNWARDS keeping in line with the screen. DO NOT attempt to pull it up towards the roof or you risk the screen breaking. :).Mike.

Thanks for the info.
The guy I bought the car from tells me that the auto-dipping rear view mirror on the Scorpio is the same as found on Jags - can anyone confirm if this is true ? Since Ford also own Jaguar, it would be quite logical as manufacturers are well known for raiding parts bins across model ranges etc... If true it may give us another source of R-V mirrors.

Mike, This has been raised before and all sorts of avenues explored but the end result is no units seem to be available or are dearer than most cars are worth!!.If your mate can provide a positive lead I'm sure everyone would be interested in the outcome. ;) There is a unit listed for the Mondeo HERE (http://www.fordpartsuk.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=FPU&Product_Code=MPARVM&Category_Code=MM1) but the mounting may be different.

hi a trip or call to ford stores will tell you if the mirror is used on other models best of luck

Hi. No, the mirror on the Jag (X300 at least) isn't the same...but it's made by the same company and has the LCD dipping function so may physically fit. One from an XK or XJ8 might be the same but if it's for a Jag you can bet you'll pay double what you would for the Scorp ;)

I did post up the customer service email for Donnelly a while back as apparently they sometimes offer a lifetime guarantee for the mirror...but nobody seemed interested ::)

As listed above mirror are different, but it may just be down to the conectors being different :)
