Title: hydraulic pipe required Post by ritchiepete on May 12th, 2007, 5:06pm Hi I have 2.5 TDI '96 plate The hydraulic pipe from flex to clutch which in located inside gearbox( both female ends) is burst so I need a replacement. Ford no longer supply part. Does anyone have a spare or a 2.5 TDi getting broken for spares. Or does anyone know where I can get pipe made -- I have spare connectors. Thanks Ritchiepete |

Title: Re: hydraulic pipe required Post by ritchiepete on May 14th, 2007, 5:33pm Tried Pritek and they wont look at it because of the ends. Was looking at getting a small local to manufacture it but no luck. Latest hair-brain idea is to cut and shut using flared ends like break pipes But any ideas would be welcomed Cheers Ritchiepete |

Title: Re: hydraulic pipe required Post by petehull on May 14th, 2007, 9:53pm Just a thought here, if it is made of steel or a non ferrus metal it could be that by cutting the ends off, a new peice of pipe could be fixed in using silver solder, this is what we used to use to solder up oil coolers and heating banks, we used to hydraulic test them to 250psi. Silver solder is applied using a Borax flux. It can be melted using an ordinary blow torch as opposed to oxy acetaline.... it gives a very strong joint and is used in the jewelry trade... as I say, it's just a thought.. :-/ pete |

Title: Re: hydraulic pipe required Post by taliban on May 14th, 2007, 10:09pm you could try a motorbike shop that has the equipment to make brake hose to length, though this will be braided, its easy to do, a m8 of mine has a goodrich hose kit, but between us we used all the hose and most of the fittings.... |
