Title: heater fan wanted, or earplugs..... Post by Nick on Mar 6th, 2008, 3:12pm My 200k miles Scorp's fan motor sounds like that eathquake last week! Anyone got one? I am happy to come and remove it if you are close-ish to anywhere between Midlands and Cumbria, otherwise how much, inc pp? Regards Nick 07941806909 |

Title: Re: heater fan wanted, or earplugs..... Post by Simmo on Mar 6th, 2008, 3:31pm Before you go rushing round the Country have a look at THIS (http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/fanrepair.htm). It is the full works so to speak BUT it shows you what the system looks like and you may find that spraying some WD40 in there through the opening might just solve your problems. ;) Click on each picture to enlarge. |

Title: Re: heater fan wanted, or earplugs..... Post by Nick on Mar 6th, 2008, 4:39pm thanks Simmo- I used the link you listed to winkle out my fan. WD40 too thin however, shaft is running with 5 mm play! In effect, the armature is acting as a (lumpy) bearing in the motor case... Thanks again Nick (perhaps aerosol porridge would work ?) ; |

Title: Re: heater fan wanted, or earplugs..... Post by Tompion on Mar 9th, 2008, 10:20pm In case it helps, someone on the mailing list said they fitted one off a Granada (having found 2 or 3 faulty Scorpio ones in the scrappy). They had to adapt the wiring/plug, but otherwise OK. |
