Can I buy the bit that the interior mirror mounts to from Ford ?

Its a dimming mirror, but the metal bit that sticks on the screen the mirror slides onto is missing.

hi..pity i never saw your request earlier.we have just come home from a scrapyard and there about 8 ultimas in there,i could have got you the part that you needed..and posted it to you.hope you have good luck in getting the part you need.regards den. :).

right i do need to go back to the scrapyard --so i will get you the part you need...i will try to go back one day this week..its about 10 miles from me...anyway leave it to me...regards den. :).

Den... if you do go prepared!. I tried to get one off yesterday and it is stuck like 'the proverbial to a blanket'!!. If it was at home I guess a little warmth from a hairdryer or similar may help but a thin bladed knife or a screwdriver made no impression whatsoever. ;)

you could always kick the windscreen in and just bring back the mount attached to a little bit of shattered glass..... ;D

hi all members,sadly i cant get back to the scrapyard for sometime to come.for reasons i cant go into...so if anyone can help out the chap thats in need of the mirror mount..that would be great..sorry if i let you down allanjames..never meant too...regards..den. :).

no probs, apparently it is available from ford for £4.57+ VAT.

Will order one from there, at least it will have the correct glue with it.

When you get the mount, call into a local windscreen repairer and ask them to fit it for you. I actually had one on my old red S reg that fell off! I called into the local autoglass and the chap fitted it for me for athe price of a pint

I always find that sticking any mirror yourself will only end in tears (and a mirroron the floor!!)_
