Pretty sure they are the same pump throught out the range

Ive got a ford galaxy pump for the 2.3 galxy on ebay its brand new as well please tell me it will do the scorp????

you seem to be replacing a lot of parts? have you found an fuelling issue?

the mechanic is pretty sure its the fuel pump as the usual sound wen ignition is on are absent ..please tell me this galaxy 2.3 will do it andrew!!!

hi there

bad news, i'm afraid.

going by the part numbers/diagrams, all the pumps are different.

16v scorpio pumps are the same.
12v & 24v scorpio pumps are the same.
older galaxy pump has different number from newer ones and there is also ones with a heater. :-/

re the issue, how does he figure that it won't run on gas? or is that fixed?

it wont run on petrol now for more than a few miles it cuts out and takes about 30 mins b4 i can start her again.. found a fuel pump on ebay for 20£ might as well try that first..new fuel filter went on yesterday as well..

have you checked/changed the relay? iirc, it's the same as the heated w/screen.

also check the edis unit multi plug.

it's on the wing behind the washer bottle.

Alistair had a 2.3 that did that, turned out to be a wire in the EDIS loom to the ECU with a bad connection that overheats after a while then cuts the engine out, once it cooled down it started again

will check both those nxt time Im at the car gonna order this fuel pump off ebay its for the scorp ..he had better be right this mate of mine...not a big job tho and ill have aspare fuel pump if its not the problem

Ive just looked at them ..they look very rusty may get some new ones in case..ive just seen anew petrol tank on ebay for 70£.. tempting as mine will be so dirty mind you can clear her out when she soff cant I
