Title: plastic caps for bumper headlight washers
Post by budgie on Apr 2nd, 2009, 1:40am
Hi to everyone ,would anyone have any of the plastic covers for the headlight washers?i have tried to buy them but apparently they are only supplied with the whole washer assembly which i dont need but if i cannot get the plastic caps on their own i will have to buy them which may seem daft but i would like to keep things working and looking as they should.

Budgie, these are as rare as hens teeth but in the past one member did manage to make some. Just one point. You need to state if the car has a 'facelift' bumper or the earlier one as the shape is different and the washer caps are moulded accordingly.......just to add to the problem of finding them!! ???

I also require two plastic cap covers for the headlight washers.
My bumper is the "facelifted" model.
I wait in hope  ::)

The pre facelift bumpers were all the same with regards to the shape of the holes which were cut out for the headlamp washers and so the caps that covered the holes were all the same too.

However, on the facelift bumpers for some reason during the 6 months or so that Ford made them, they changed the shape of the holes and thus the shape of the caps that covered the washers. The final version were more of a square shape with a crease line straight across parrallel to one edge. The first facelift ones had the crease line across one of the corners of the cap.

I will try and find the photos I did the last time this came up!! ;D

When I bought a facelift washer off ebay I was not aware there were two different types and you guessed it I bought the wrong one. >:( I have a n/s early one, will swop for the latter n/s square one as Baz describes.
