Well that was me back on the road for 2 days... 2h ago I had a little incident which resulted in a broken alloy...
I was going no more then 35MPH, just going off the bypass when my car made a 180 degree turnaround on a stain of oil or some other crap. hit the kerb and broke the wheel, not to mention the tyre...

anyway, i have/had a set of these;

and now, when I have a chance, I'm looking to replace them with a set of these;

i understand that the ones i have are size 15" and ones I'm looking for are 16" so it would be great if I could get them with a set of tyres too...

just in case if anyone could tell me how much would a set of decent tyres cost for those 'cosworth' 16" alloys?

Anyway, the point is that if anyone and by anyone I'm probably referring to Highlander ;), has a set of those nice wheels preferably with good tyres near Edinburgh, please let me know.
I can't afford to pay much so I would like to avoid a situation where I'd have to buy alloys + new tyres at the same time...

jeez, my little Scorpio keeps having various adventures and constantly keeps me busy and out of work... and how am I supposed to keep paying for all of this when without a car I'm earning hardly anything... :/

EDIT:
i just read somewhere that those 16" might not fit my car, is that true?!!!!
i honestly don't think that there is any difference and they should fit without a problem but now i'm confused... can somebody tell me what the truth is? cheers...

The 16" 12 spokes will fit fine, no problem ;)

Donat have a spare set of 12 spokes sorry, and nothing with good tyres other than steel wheels

thanks anyway Stuart. if something comes up please let me know... [ i still have 3 of my old alloys with 3 good tyres + a steel spare with a decent tyre, so u may consider an exchange for your spokes :P ]

any idea how much would a set of quite decent tyres cost me for those 12 spokes alloys if I can't get any with tyres?

god I hope someone has a set with tyres that would last for a few months... my finances are getting pretty tight at the moment... :/

where are you based? just so u know if we have a deal I won't be able to pick the wheels up before 6-7 of May and then 9-10 of May...

any idea how much would the new tyres be for the set?

u got any pics of the wheels? what condition r they?

I do believe Snoopy has a set of the teardrop alloys he's been trying to sell since Simmo was a lad but dont know about the tyres on them.

If I remember rightly Dave is in Chester? I'm off to Chester on Thursday this week, i could pick them up for you ;)

now you're a really good chap :) once more I owe you... hope that we can meet sometime in person bbq or something ...
i only need to sort some things out and catch up with my work some of it had to be postponed due to the recent leak i had... and i'm good to go and you can feel invited on the nearest occasion :)

back to the topic, i'm awaiting confirmation from Mick and if everything goes well i should buy a set of 12 spokes from him on the 6th of May.
Now i only need to get some tyres for them :)

I do have a full set of tear drop 15 inch ones ( 5 ) tyres are not good but I am open to ANY offers otherwise they are going to the local tip .... Very soon . need collecting from Chester.

well i've got a few more days before collecting the wheels from Mick and am looking for tyres.

has anyone used Toyo tyres?

I've been thinking about buying;
Toyo Proxes T1-R 225/50 R16 W

they seem to be reasonably priced for £97.95 all inclusive with fitting, balancing etc. but you never can trust 'customer opinions' given on the website ;) so i'm wondering if anyone can tell me something about those tyres or Toyo tyres in general.

Oh, and Mick, could you please check here: http://www.blackcircles.com/ if they fit tyres somewhere near you? All you got to do is get a quote for any kind of tyres with fitting, then click 'buy' and then you'll be redirected to a website where you give your post code and get a list of garages near you.
I thought I'll order the tyres to a garage near your place to come on the same day and we'll go, fit them on and you'll get one of my old wheels as a spare like we agreed.

I have those toyo on the mx6 bloody great mate stick like s to a blanket.

brillant in the wet and super in the dry, got mine from black circles as a very good price for 5
( mx6 has an alloy for a spare so no need to swap once the flat is fixed )

had then on my vauxhall vrx as well

4 brand new Toyo Proxes T1-R 225/50 R16 W (92) tyres ordered and will be fitted on Wednesday ;) Will post a pic after the upgrade ;)

PS. Stuart I believe those were your wheels ;) You sold them to Tintin, then they went to Glasgow to Mick and now they are back home in Edinburgh ;P

Oh the story goes back farther than that :)

I bought a 2.3 facelift saloon in London a few years ago with those wheels on it, I sold them to a guy in Falkirk who put them on a Mondeo which was then written off not long after.
I bought the wheels back then sold them to a Scorpio owner in fife.
He ran them until the tyres were done then asked me if I could try and sell them for him.

TinTin bought them then I belive they went to Mick and now back to you...

Maybe one day i'll get them back again :)
