Just when I thought its all sorted I get a problem with 1 alloy rim :( tyre fitting says its the rim that is causing the tyre to deflate (has 4-5 times over last 2 weeks) he can't find any punture and cleaned the rimm edge twice with wire brush but it still goes down slowly.
SO I need another rim does any one have one going spare ;D preferably local to south wales area.

I fixed a similar problem with alloy wheels by having the tyres taken off and cleaning up the alloy wheel sealing area and painting it with black smoothrite. It's 5 months on and the tyres are still inflated. Make sure the paint is properly cured though first or you might have problems getting the tyre off next time round.

Wouldn't fitting a tube also solve the problem?

Not a good idea to fit a tube in a tubeless cover,they usually have a patterned or rough interior which eventually cause a puncture.

The paint option has worked fine for me. You could probably use silver spraypaint as long as the surface is quite smooth once it's done.

Some garages used to get funny about putting tubes in tubeless low profile tyres. Maybe that's all changed now

My tyre fitter won't put tubes in at all says he has had too much hassle in the past with em going kaput (his words hehe) he also said to try the paint idea but said there is a bit of pitting around inside rim of alloy which won't help,
So I keep checking an pumping it up till I can get another one. :'(

When I had my tyres fitted he wire brushed the rims & said they often get pitted and leak so he painted on some black tyre sealer before fitting the tyres.

If you are after a rim what type of rim do you want..........
I mean what size.... and type..... ( tear drop, 12 spoke. ).....

I have several but live Edinburgh ,you can have them but it means getting courier?Incidentally do you have a spare BOB rh cam chain tensioner?(pie in the sky hope).Cheers,

Dear Sir,
That is great .Are you aware of this engine having chain rattle even if only for a few secs from cold start ?The right hand cam chain tensioner can seep/loose oil overnight thus before it repressurises the tensioner you get the rattle.There was a modded one that ford fittedwith a non return valve .This was normally indicated by a white mark on the outside of tensioner .Do you know how to get it off ?It has a tamperproof plug (allen key fitment )then a torx 26 or 27 turn clockwise to lock prior to removal.Thanks .Can I post my email address here or what ??Where will you leave your number?Thanks very much ,

The engine didnt have a chain rattle but is one of the early ones so wont have had the new tensioner factory fitted.

However previous owner did have the timing chains done on it so you may be lucky and find it has been upgraded..

My tyre on alloy rim kept going down, local fitter cleaned rim and put some sort of sealeer round it, its been ok for 5 months now
