Title: Re: Loom Post by lleewar on Apr 21st, 2010, 9:11pm I have repaired a couple of sections but it must be easier off the car but I need the car every day so repairing a spare one off the car would be a better choice. It may even cure some problems as I have read so much about the failings/problems of the looms. Lee |

Title: Re: Loom Post by lleewar on Apr 23rd, 2010, 11:58pm Could be a cure for any problem but i would like to educate myself as well. At least if it was renewed it would eliminate something that would potentially go wrong. It is the route of all that can go wrong. Lee |

Title: Re: Loom Post by lleewar on Oct 11th, 2010, 7:25pm Hi Stuart, Dont know how to do pictures but follow this. Go to home page then onto "Fault Finder'. Go down to 'Starts but poor running'. Look at 'Missing at part throttle' and click on 'Engine loom'. Second picture. It's the middle arrow. Question, is the loom for the 2.3 the same as the 2.0 ??? This is the extra cabling I'm talking about Lee |

Title: Re: Loom Post by Highlander on Oct 12th, 2010, 11:46am Idle control valve? You should have one of those ;D http://i53.tinypic.com/28vvg5t.jpg |

Title: Re: Loom Post by lleewar on Oct 12th, 2010, 12:11pm yes, but not in that position. The connector on the loom you sent me comes out of the front part of the track(the red line runs across it) as a seperate piece of loom and is only 4-5 inches long. The picture must be from a 2.3 as I have two air inlets and the sensor to the right is nearer the rad and underneath. The configuration to mine is all wrong. Lee |

Title: Re: Loom Post by Tompion on Oct 12th, 2010, 2:37pm Lee, I think everything is broadly the same but as you've found some of the wires are different lengths so you may need to splice a bit in. You may also find one of the temp sensors has a different plug (2 wires instead of 1) since the 2.3 has a plastic manifold & needs an earth feed. Dave |
