This is the part with two screws which is positioned above the heater blower motor within the engine, below the windscreen wipers on top of the black plastic box, with three electrical connectors. Two either side and one on top.

Simmo and lleewar. This is the one with the heat sink, as in the photo. When I carried the test with a multimeter the output was at 11.7V. At mid point of the heating it registered 8.3V, Whilst in the off position it still was registering 8.3v. Do I take it that it's this component that is faulty?

The loom section was 4.3V

The motor doesn't come on. It all went pear shape when I bumped started the battery.

Before you go too wild look at the link I put up, use the 'buttons' on the left of the page and select CC reset. Try that first. ;)

They are exorbitant,if you can get one, new. Hopefully a member will have one. :)
