Does anyone have a working front offside ABS sensor kicking around for a 1996 Scorpio Ultima 2.9 auto saloon.

If you do, please quote me and if you don't, do you know anyone that sells them at a reasonable cost?

It's easier to fit a used hub and carrier because the sensors are always seized in,unless you can find a new one to replace the one you break out.The rears don't corrode in,just the front ones.

Yup I found that out today when the garage had to destroy mine to replace the bearing :'(

So I guess breakers aren't an option either.

Steve, try These people (http://www.gsfcarparts.com/parts/electrical-lighting/sensors/wheel-speed-sensor). Check your reg on the site as the sensor shown is for my 2ltr but I suspect they are the same. ;)

Thanks Simmo, £47 on that site which is about what they are being sold for new on ebay. It's just so annoying when you consider the same part for a Fiesta, Focus, Puma etc is about £10.

They are fundamentally the same part that contain the same components and do the same job so why 4 times the price..... rip off or what! not a happy man :'(

Can anyone confirm if the front and rear ABS sensors are the same ???

If they are, I might be able to get one from a breakers that came off the rear as it seems they come out easily.

No, they're not the same.

Ditto - I now have a spare hub sat on my shelf with a lovely new bearing fitted :-)

If I ever find a cheap sensor I'll buy it and fit it back :-)
