Title: Main Fusebox Wanted
Post by mondeoman on Apr 27th, 2015, 10:17am
Hi,

I am need to replace my fuse box on my 2.9 24v Scorpio as some strange things have started happening which all point to my fusebox on the car.

Does anybody have a fusebox in good condition i.e no water damage?

Cheers,

Simon

Peter,

Thank you. My car is currently racing at tick over and it is an electrical problem so I think it is the fusebox. My airbag light sometimes keeps flashing on and off and I have had to wire both headlights through one fuse which I have traced the problem to the fusebox.

Cheers,

Simon

Simon. The first question is , have you had the main connector off?  If you have that MAY be the source of some problems. The second thing is have you tried to gently dry out the fusebox with a hair dryer or similar?.

The fusebox appears to be dry, but I have not had the main connector off recently. I'll have a look and see if there are any problems.

The idle problem I know is not an air leak, or the MAF sensor as it's been cleaned, or the idle control valve which I have replaced.

Cheers,

Simon

Have a read of This post (http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.pl?board=admin;action=display;num=1267895931) One of the common causes of faults is that the connector is not in place correctly. It may appear so BUT it can go down one row of pins out and cause all sorts of issues.  ;)

I'm still looking!   I've looked in the Tea-Chests in the shed, all 6 of them!   I'm going into the loft the night, only 2 tea-chests there.   I'm confident!

OK.   I've got one.   I take it you're talking about the fuse-box beside the Battery?   You'll need to give me an Address with post-code so's I can get it off first-class.

PJD. The title says MAIN fusebox. To my mind that indicates the drivers side as that is the MAIN or CENTRAL fusebox. The battery side one is the AUXILLARY fusebox.  :)

Peter,

If you have the main fuse box on the drivers side of the car, then how much do you want for it? Will pay pal be on or would you want a cheque?

I will send you a pm with my address.

Cheers,

Simon
