Title: Speedo Sensor Wanted Post by dell777 on Jun 20th, 2015, 1:30pm Hi, I am looking for a speedo sensor (VSS) for my 1995 Scorpio Ultima 2.0 16v Automatic. I have been hunting for a while and found one, on Amazon of all places, for £141.00!!! I showed the picture to the guys at the garage who are trying to fix it for me as I didn't want to spend all that if it was the wrong part. They told me it didn't look like the part they had removed and checked. So my hunt has continued but it's getting more and more desperate. Can anyone here help? Thanks Phil |

Title: Re: Speedo Sensor Wanted Post by Scorpio_Mike on Jun 20th, 2015, 5:48pm I just checked the Intermotor website & it looks like P/N 17035 is the correct part. Take a look at this site - £29.90 + shipping. http://www.skscarparts.co.uk/sensors-other-17035-intermotor.html?search=17035 |

Title: Re: Speedo Sensor Wanted Post by dell777 on Jun 20th, 2015, 10:07pm Hi Scorpio_Mike, thanks for your reply. I'll check that out using their online chat on Monday. From my searching so far I believe the sensors are different between manual and auto boxes. Need to clarify which box their listed sensor is for. I'll also get the garage to double check for me. Hope it's the one. Much better price than £141.00!!! Thanks again Phil |

Title: Re: Speedo Sensor Wanted Post by dell777 on Jun 20th, 2015, 10:10pm Hey Scorpio_Mike, just noticed at the top of the web page it says "for automatic transmission"! So if this part is confirmed by the garage, my search will be over. Great stuff!!! |

Title: Re: Speedo Sensor Wanted Post by dell777 on Jul 3rd, 2015, 10:48am I just checked with the guy at the car electricians that have been trying to sort out my speedo problem and he said I need the sensor that has a geared drive. The one at SKS Car Parts (link posted above - thanks Scorpio_Mike) is an inductive sensor that reads the speed magnetically rather than with a cog or geared connection to the gearbox. Presumably the cog drive and magnetically sensors are not interchangeable. So I guess my search goes on... |

Title: Re: Speedo Sensor Wanted Post by Tompion on Jul 3rd, 2015, 12:39pm It’s a magnetic sensor within the part driven by the cog. The one in the link is wrong but sometimes sites use generic pictures so you can’t always be sure going by the image. This is it (not inc VAT): http://www.fordpartsuk.com/shop/ford_granadascorpio_speed_sensor_f_1021991.htm That firm have it on Amazon & Ebay so probably the one you’ve already seen. You have to fit the gear from your old one. If you search for the finis no 1021991 on Ebay you’ll find a couple of pattern ones in Germany like this: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/201371746102 There are several other part no’s in that list, try searching using them. |

Title: Re: Speedo Sensor Wanted Post by dell777 on Jul 3rd, 2015, 12:54pm That's great Tompion. The one on the ebay listing is how the car electrician described the part to me. Cheaper too!! I'll follow up on this. Thanks |
