Still looking for one in the cos saloon, it works when it feels like it, this is the cd changer compatible one?

I would be interested in buying a changer and a head unit once Roy is sorted.
My changer skips badly and the radio/cd unit sometimes works on one speaker, occasionally two, and now and again all of them. I'll check what model mine is, although it has been swapped at some time to the single cd, perhaps because of the problems with the changer.

The one I need is a 2007 cd changer compatible (as on the front of the radio itself), Quentin probably wanys a 7000 series, as these are the right radios for cars from qabout august '95 on

Currently fitted to the vehicle is a 6000 with single cd, was fitted by a previous owner because the cd changer skips. However the 6000 is playing out of one or sometimes two speakers.

What I therefore need is a 6000 in good working order, or a 7000 and cd changer that are both in good working order.

The 7000 is right for the ultima, the 6000 with single cd slot in the radio willl work with the Cd chnger and give you 7 discs available.
Many of the 7000s ad a problem with no display, this is not a problem if A you can live with it or B need to put the code it to make it work, just turnit on then using buttons 1 to 4 insert the code then press select and up it fires!

Cd changers are a little difficult to change and have loads of metalwork around them, take photos to see how the jigsaw goes back together, have a working ford spare if you still need one next time I see you.

Thanks Roy for the info and offer, it is a long while since I operated the changer and I forgot the 6000 operates it.

If the changer is a fiddle I would be happy to settle for the single one, but it would be nice to have the unit working on all speakers. I usually use the radio anyway.
