Hi all,
I'm looking to buy a Scorpio Ultima TD Estate. I'd consider a Ghia if it had cruise control fitted.
I'm planning to run on veg oil so it needs to be the TD engine which I believe was fitted in cars manufactured before 1/9/96, the later TDi engine is not really suitable. Average mileage for year in good condition would be great but anything considered really. NOT GREEN!!!!! Sorry, but I just don't like green cars {} I'm in Central Scotland but I don't mind travelling for the right car providing it's mot'd and taxed to drive home.

Well, despite my letter to Santa, he didn't bring me a 2.5td Ultima estate :( So I'm still looking. There's one on ebay, not sure if it's an Ultima or not but it's 285 miles away, has the engine in bits, no mot or tax so could be a bit tricky to drive home! ;)

Scorpioworld has a diesel engine for sale... now if you can find a nice Ultima Estate with no engine you'd be laughing ;)

p.s. why is the later engine not suitable for veggie oil?

Hi, the later engine uses the electronic injector pump and it is much less tolerant of veggie than the mechanical one. I also believe the later engine is direct injection and not indirect as the earlier one. You could still do a veggie conversion but it would need a twin tank set up so that you could start on diesel and then switch to veg once the car is up to running temp. I'd prefer the earlier car as you can just pour the veg oil straight into the tank and thin it a bit with unleaded petrol in the winter, much easier all round ;)

Hi, My neuvaux red td ultima estate is for sale at the moment. 2 problems though, I'm in lincolnshire and the cruise control has stopped working. Other than that its a nice car with tax till may and mot till december.
