1998 Ford Scorpio 2.3 16v Ultima Automatic - Face lifted Model.

114,550 miles. This is a genuinely good car and will willingly answer any and all questions. You will be getting a very reliable car that has served me well for over 2 years.

Good Points

The car was fully serviced in April 2008 (at 113,540 miles), has a MoT until May 2009 and is taxed until the end of Dec 2008. I also have the last 3 MoT Certificates.

The Leather interior is very good (see the photos). The exterior is pretty good (couple of minor dents and scratches). Fully mentioned in the ‘not so good points’ section.

This car has been very well looked after I have receipts for all of the work done / items purchased over the last 2 ½ years.

Engine and gearbox are fine, no starting issues, idles well, no strange noises from either and the auto-box changes up and down smoothly. The over-drive also works (not that you’ll every use it). When I bought the car I did the smell test on the auto-box oil, the oil should smell minerally and not burnt (first sign of a dying auto-box) which it did and which it still does.

I had both sills replaced at the end of last year and they have been treated with anti-chip paint. The underside is in good condition with no wielding required.

A new battery was purchased shortly after I bought the car and was recently replaced due to a faulty cell and is still under warranty (March 2009).

4 x New Falken tyres (all purchased within the last year), the car has only 2,500 miles since the first pair was purchased. The space saver is also in very good condition.

All of the following work perfectly: Electric windows/mirrors, electric seats (with memory), heated seats, cruise control, boot auto release (via the key fob), airbags (not that I’ve ever had to use them), ABS/Traction Control and Power Steering

Not so good points.

Self dipping rear-view mirror, no longer self dips.

Sun roof will require a replacement motor unit (one of the gears is worn and is slipping). My local breakers yard has one for £40.

Air-con compressor has seized. A replacement would cost about £250, but lets face it how often do you really need Air-con in the UK.

The digital display on the Stereo is intermittent, the cassette player, radio and CD Multi-changer all work perfectly it’s just that the display is a little un-predicable.

There is a slight oil leak on the left hand side front of the rocker cover. And I do mean slight, the oil has only ever had to have been replaced upon service.

Very small dent on the front drivers side wheel arch.

Slight damage to the rear bumper (driver’s side). I scraped it on a wall when reversing and anyone who is reasonably competent with wet & dry and a can of spray paint could easily repair the damage.

There was a small amount of rust on the rear drivers side wheel arch which has been de-rusted and treated with a rust inhibitor and given a temporary coat of Hamerite. Again, anyone who is reasonably competent with wet & dry and a can of spray paint could easily repair the damage.

The trip computer needs a replacement switch unit.

Headlight wash no longer works.

If you have any questions please ask.

I’m asking for £650 for a quick sale.
