Full years MOT
Taxed till November
recent new tyres all round and front brakes

This was one i initially bought unseen to break but it was in great condition, done some minor work on it and now put it through an MOT (Today 15/6/09)
needs some work done on the rear arches and a rust patch on the boot but its pretty good aside from that internally and externally

Will be taking it to Harewood this weekend for the run if anyone wants a look at it.

I'm seeing if theres any interest on here first before I throw it to the vultures on ebay.

it was owned for six years by a retired mechanic and he's really looked after it so it would suit someone looking for a good one to keep long term, its too good to be Joe Public's Granada! ;)

Going on ebay this week I think

Was very surprised by the fuel consumption on the Harewood trip, on the way down I drove it hard 90+ and it returned 33mpg (aircon on constantly)
on the way back i had plenty time so I set the cruise control to 60 for half the journey and it averaged 39 with the aircon on and 42 with it turned off (in the cool evening) for the second half

I'd rather see someone on here get it rather than someone just looking for an old car to run about in..

Years MOT and taxed till November, so far it stands me at £300, I'll take £400 and £50 will go to the forum.

I'm after a Scorpio for the other half as she's fallen in love with mine and consequently getting harder and harder to prise the keys out of her handbag ::)

Your car looks great, but I noticed you'd had the dreaded bubble in the mirror and an issue with the rear brakes according to another thread on here. I'm assuming the brakes got sorted for the MOT but did the mirror get replaced? Also How bad are the arches and the boot? Can't see too much in the piccies on fleabay.

Yep new mirror fitted, brakes sorted, arches passed the mot but need something done really, the lip is coming off them, one side worse than the other, will take some pics

Sounds good to me....just got an enquiry out for the rough cost of wheel arches doing (using one side of my Scorpio as a guideline!) Although I probably could resort to P38 if it's too expensive. ;D

Regardless I'm still very interested in the car so I'll have to get ready to bid on ebay.

Surprisingly I've had quite a bit of interest and a few viewings (had to bite my tongue a few times when "Granada" was mentioned though)!! }{

Yep, Harewood would have been a whole lot easier to get to for collection :D

But if I'd know about it before Harewood I could also have bought it for £400 ::)

Ah well, I still think it's a good price for a Scorpio, especially as I'll be able to find the keys for mine all the time now and not suddenly find my car is at Tesco's with the other half! }{

Actually the car is fortunate to be going to you,had it remained with Stuart it may have become a Tartan Dragster,a Grampian Grunter,Cumbernauld Convertible or a big pile of bits to assist in the resurrection of lesser Scorps ;)
Your other half will go to TEaStoresCOhen and bash the doors of all the careless 'motorists' who hitherto bashed yours ;D

Oh dear! Well much as I hate to upset folk, if they don't know how to use ebay properly then perhaps they ought to learn! They should have bid the max amount they were prepared to pay..... I did...ok so I always bid in the last 1-5 seconds, but I'm a tight Yorkshireman! }{

Dunno if you have any travel plans made yet but...

I have a run in the van via Warrington/Chester/Derby on Tuesday coming (7th)

If you dont mind getting home late then I could pick you up maybe just after lunchtime and bring you back up here??

I reckon we could be back here around 5/6pm and you'd be 4 hours ish to get home?

Hi Stuart, not made any set plans yet but was thinking about coming up on Saturday or Sunday as 'er indoors is itching to get behind the wheel and my ears might just fall off if they take any more punishment :D

Whats the nearest rail station to you?

If I can't get sorted for the weekend or you aren't available then I may well take you up on the kind offer of a lift :)

Weekend not too good for me, logistics problem :)

I'll be at the other side of the country :)

Can do it if you're desperate but next week would be best, you can get a train almost to the door ;)

the car is in Dunlop in Ayrshire, train station just down the road.

Got a spare aerial no probs :)

Or i'll pick you up Tuesday :)

lol a pair of driveshafts ;D

As i'd only really driven the car to Harewood and back i've been driving it all last week just to make sure everything was ok, done 600 miles

On my way to work THIS MORNING i heard a slight knock... CV joint!! typical!! ;D

only very slight but its there, cant really tell which one it is yet so I stuck a couple spare driveshafts in the boot ;)

Mind you we drove around for ages trying to get it to do it and couldnt hear anything!! should have just kept quiet! }{
