Forgot to mention.....

Car is in St Neots, Cambs.
Speedo shows 69k, new clocks at 24k according to service book so 93k in all.
Car has cruise, climate, 7000rds with 6cd changer, electric seats (not heated) and comes with 3 keys (1 red) and 1 remote.

Hello thought i read somewhere that the speedo shows the millage of the engine. Even if you change the clock it still shows the original engine millage. Not sure just  thought i read it somewhere

I read that here somewhere too, but I don't think it's true. I'm pretty sure the mileage shown is from the clocks themselves.

The mileage on the 12v at least,is registered in the instrument panel,I put a high mileage one into a low mileage car which had a small fire, and it retained it's high miles.I suppose cars with EEC V may have it in the PCM.

I think you've hit the nail on the head Gozz. []
I have read about them reading the mileage from the PCM but as we all know the 12v uses the same gubbins from the MK3 so there must be an exception.
Given that the service book shows the following services after clocks fitted being at less than the stated 24k I can only assume that this is the case with the 12v.

Bump.
Petrol tank strap now snapped and MOT due early December.
Not sure if I can be bothered to put it in.
On the plus side have been using a bit recently and starts and drives well. Wheel wobble greatly reduced when you pump the tyres up.
Don't forget there's a spare gearbox and wheels with it.
Taxed till end of this month and willing to deliver. ;)
Cheers
Mark

I'm of the opinion if you want drive a Scorpio returning 20mpg why not drive a 24v and get the performance  too ;D

The 12v has just never appealed to me

My 24V Estate has always returned much better fuel consumption than the 12V saloon ever did, and it has a lot more grunt too ;D

Good luck with selling it though ;)
