Hi, folks.

Well, after spending even more money my Scorpio has finally died on me. Last month head gasket went whilst driving down the A12 on the way to our holiday.

I was wondering if anyone would be interested in purchasing the car for spares as some parts are brand new.

Please PM me if you're interested and I'll provide more information.

I live in Southend-On-Sea Essex.

Hi, folks.

Is there anyone interested in picking up the car for say £200, or could the gasket be fixed fairly cheaply?

Here's the parts that are new.

1). Alternator
2). Brake Pump
3). V Belt
4). 2 Tyres

Bodywork pretty good, however there's a couple of dents that could easily be repaired by someone who knows what he's doing.

never done one but diesel has individual heads so it would just be a matter of doing one i presume?

ive got heads if you need one, think the 4 single gasket kit is about £30 - 80 if you look around on ebay, jeeps use the same engine

Thank you very much for yout replies.

I'm afraid that I have no skills in car mechanics. I only know about computers and women.  :D

If any of you could fix my car I would pay you well. I've only got till the end of October to get this sorted out because that's when the car tax expires.

In general, how much should it cost to get the parts and fit? My local garage recon £1400 at least and that's if the engine hasn't been "buckled".

I'm really at your hands here.

In all honesty, looks like my Scorpio has poisoned itself in it's own nuts. LOL A cylinder head gasket sounds like some prostrate problems to me, so it's definitely of the male sex. LOL

This car is still for sale if anyone's interested. It does drive, but I recommend that it's towed away for repairs.

Hi Ian i have an engine and gearbox plus full gasket set for this if your interested in it wont seperate it from gearbox as dont know how to without damging the clutch mech was in the process of instaling it into my car about a year ago but due to wife getting very ill had to sideline it if you look on parts for sale you can get my mobile number from there and i can tell you more about it only want £250 for the engine and gearbox complete anyway ill leave it with you m8 all the best Graham.

assuming that there is no other damage to the engine,it may only need a cylinder head gasket,if there is more damage then a replacement engine would be the better option i think :-/...it rests with ian,i have seen this car and its not a bad one..just needs a few little bits of work doing to it. :).

Just so you know you cant just replace 1 gasket as the headbolts hold dowm the head next to them aswell so its not a case of changing one its all off as you disturb the head next to it hope this helps with  any confusion

easy  job m8  i have done it when my one  blew 2 head gaskets from heads 1 and 3  so i went vauxhall and asked for a fontera  2.5 tdi head gasket which  is a whole metal gasket and when all back together it ran a treat not a lot of work to take the heads off  it took me 3 hours to do the job

I know it's not much help but I am looking for a set of 12 spoke alloys if do decided to strip it for spares etc. I am also after the inside cover for the passenger wing mirror if it's not damaged at all as I damaged mine recently replacing the mirror.

I hate to see yet another Scorpio leave the road though as they will start to become very rare.

you can aslo use the vauxhall fontera head gasket it a whole 3 layer metal gasket  and fits  under the 4 indivdual heads  superbly so no need for 4 gaskets i know  as i have done one
