Title: Silver Cosworth going up for sale Post by camaro on Apr 6th, 2010, 12:28am I have a 95' Silver Cosworth saloon which is up for sale as i no longer drive it. Was considering scraping the car but due to the realtivly good condition and the fact that it is a cossie i thought that would be a mortal sin! I own the car from 2006 but have not driven it since 2008.The car has 107K on the clock and appart from the odd sign of rust coming on the arches the body work is in very good condition. Please let me know if anyone is interested |

Title: Re: Silver Cosworth going up for sale Post by camaro on May 21st, 2010, 6:12pm Some more info on the car - Will scrap soon if none one is interested. I have not driven it for a while so tried it and found the following things. Car should be good for spare or repairs. Since I have not drove it for two years the tax and MOT have expired. Started the engine earlier and was ok for about 10 minutes then engine struggled to idle and stopped so I suspect the idle valve is sticking or faulty. The radiator and thermostat have recently been changed. Water level is dropping slightly but cannot find any leak and the oil is not milky so am at a loss with what is happing there. The only other little faults are as follows: Small crack in windscreen in passenger side corner Bit of rust starting to come on arch Cigarette burn in drive seat (burn was there when I bought the car as I do not smoke.) Apart from that the car is ok. The only reason I stopped driving it was I changed my job and I did not get expenses paid so could not afford the petrol costs (as you are probably aware these engines are not economical but are fast and fun to drive.) |

Title: Re: Silver Cosworth going up for sale Post by Mike H on May 21st, 2010, 6:17pm Is it a case of storage space? Cos if it's that good worth holding on 'til someone wants to take it would have thought (?) |

Title: Re: Silver Cosworth going up for sale Post by camaro on May 24th, 2010, 6:04pm No it not really storage space that worries me. It is just i am fed up of seeing it just sat there doing nothing. I would rather someone use it if anybody wants to have it. I will eventually scrap it if noone wants it but it would be an awful waste considering it has a cossie engine in it. |
