Any of you people bidding on ebay 130404201095,low mileage dark blue,it's currently making,or appears to be making good money !!
Ideal spec really,no silly front fogs,no rotting sunroof, straight aircon, but has leather and 12 spokes.
Said to be American embassy in Edinburgh run about when new.
Not too far from me,very tempted, but really don't need any more !!!

I was actually the high bidder, but I got the feeling that I was bidding against the listers best mate, I may well be wrong I spose, I got offered the car immedately after the bidding closed. I might go for it..but I just feel that the bidding was being might have been  er..."organised"..Still it looks very nice all the same..

That's exactly what I thought !! it's only an hour from me but the vibes were bad,and one MUST see the car in the flesh to make a true appraisal.Assuming everything about it is honest, then the price, which I thought was £1500,would be acceptable, however these machines always look the part, and it would not be too difficult to buy trouble, making you wish you hadn't bothered !!

This is reason enough to walk away, even it it was in factory wrapping. If someone cheats bids, what stops him from selling a ticking bomb...

Heard them talking about that on the radio, as you might expect what the representative from ebay had to say boiled down to nothing of use.
Since they hid the identities of bidders you have no way of checking if shill bidding is happening. In the past I’ve checked the history of sellers & people bidding against me & reported obvious links between them. I’ve had 4 people removed for this.
Unfortunately there is no way of checking now.

I wonder how much money ebay makes through shill bidding, its really not in their interest to stop it ;)

If it was a genuine motor why are the pictures outside on a road next what looks like a farm? Beware. Only buy from sellers who show their cars outside their house etc. IMO of course :)

No, I gave it a miss, he relisted it and it received 2 immediate bids but it failed to reach its reserve, then no further action...it just didn't feel right..I can wait...or get an S-Type Jaguar of course!
Cheers

There certainly was something odd about the way it was being presented !! I think you did the right thing.
