I have a R reg 16v 2.3l automatic Ultima Ford Scorpio Saloon (white) for sale.
I've kept it going quite a while but now the gear box is is behaving oddly and I can't afford to replace the part. It has a valid MOT until August '11.

I think it is best if I list the faults and the highlights of the car:

Brand new parts in the last couple of years (new, not scrapyard):
Front bumper
Petrol tank

Interior good condition, including leather electric, heated seats.

Faults:
Gear box going
Cracked rear bumper and plastic on boot
A/C not working (although heating does)
Occasional knocking in the engine at low revs
Corrosion on chassis that required welding last mot.

The bumper and the tank alone are probably worth more than the sale value of the car!

I'm open to any offers above the paultry one I got from webuyanycar.com of £50! I'd like it to go to an enthusiast so please make me an offer guys! Otherwise I'm afraid I'll be calling round the scrap dealers for offers next :-/

it may be cosiderd blaspheme but scorpios are becoming worth more ase scrap than they are alive.at the moment cars are £145 a ton.ase scorpios are 1.5 ton you are loking at over £200.if you take off the cat converter trear £50-60 on a2.3 .aloy wheels @£9-10 each.

Thanks for that 5stud. Phoned one up today and they valued my car at £215 for scrap. If anyone can give me a better offer please let me know. Remember the new front bumper (the original ones on your cars shatter really easily at their age - that's what happened to mine... at parking speed!) and new petrol tank, plus very good interior.
Not going to act until later next week.

Take the bumper and any good bits off off and sell it separately then scrap the rest :)

Good advice Higlander, but I don't have the tools or anywhere off the public highway that I can strip a car. Does anyone want to take on the job and make the profit?

Car is worth £215 scrap and removable parts must be worth a few hundred. I'd take £300 for it.
