Title: AVOID THE SCORPIO ON AUTOTRADER
Post by tiggerlit on Mar 19th, 2011, 9:38pm
just thought i would warn people so they dont have a wasted journey. there is a dark red ultima estate for sale near hastings and its on auto trader website.
we went yesterday 4 hour round trip and a wasted one at that. he says its all perfect but the head gasket is on its way out and he knew it but denied it, also its had a smack as the front bumper and passenger headlight is different. he first of all said he had it only 2 weeks but now says hes had it 4 weeks.

sorry if im out of order for saying this but i think of people on this forum as honest people.

Doesn't seem out of order to me tiggerlit,a timely warning I would say  8),the bloke is obviously an opportunist driveway dealer hoping that his clients know even less about his products than he does ! Some poor sod may buy that heap and the geezer wont want to know,I couldn't sleep at night if I did that sort of trick.
                        Keep smilin'

I've looked at this site and the only estate is a 'Lady owned' one and the contact is by mobile with a guy called Terry. Is that the one?? as it says it is only a few mile from me and Hastings is much further away. Where exactly did you go ?. This one looks as if it is on a chalet park or similar.  ???

yeah thats the one terry was his name. thing is when my other half took the cap off to look at the water he found the lovely sludge in the inside of the cap, he put his finger in it and the bloke gave him a piece of kitchen roll to wipe his finger off, but it had already been used to wipe the expansion tank, so the bloke knew the head was on its way out, even though he said he didnt have a clue.
thing is once you have had a head go you look for that first.
when we said we didnt want it he said well ill just leave it on the drive doing nothing.
i think what he done is bought it for his job (taxi) and found it was no good.
apparently he bought it for his wife but its too big for her, but they had a minibus a big mobile caravan in their drive, so why get another big car you would buy a smaller one surely.
