is it usual for buzzer to sound when door is opened (like a lights on warning sounder)

Only if the transmission selector is not in 'P'...assuming it is an auto  ???

I concur, that's what happens.

It's warning you shouldn't get out before putting it in Park.

A very irritating device,I always disconnect them as I use the handbrake for parking to avoid it seizing through lack of use.

Not only that need handbrake to click up the rear caliper pistons adjustment ;D


Still think it's easier just to put it in 'P', with or without handbrake to stop the bleeping ;D
