Daniel,
I have just been to YORKSHIRE to see a silver 1997 Cosworth estate but I dont know whether it is the one you mentioned. Said to be 122800 miles no tax mot to sept 12. The cac looks quite reasonable and was £1495 0n the web but on display at £1695 ! When I spoke to the seller on the phone he said he didnt know of anything wrong with it but when I looked around the aircon compressor had the drive belt removed pulleys surface rust. Battery flat so unable to test anything, no offer to start it and despite advert of £1495 was not keen to accept less than £1500 which he reckons someone will pay easily. Wouldn't buy a car without a test drive anyway so I walked away and wished him good luck!

I've been looking for a 24V Ultima for the last few years (and have taken two saloons as a stop gap in the meantime) and they just do not come up. I think they are such good cars owners don't sell them, as they are worth so little these days. There was a very nice black one on here (now sold) but it wasn't an Ultima, so I wasn't tempted. I even trekked over to Guernsey to see one (that turned out not to be an Ultima too, so I should have looked at the ad more carefully - and it was rotten underneath anyway). All very depressing. Keep looking...don't hold your breath!

Probably give you £250 for your 2.3 as a p/x
I believe this is the one you are after. Looks ok, last recorded service nearly 30k ago. Will need an oil change at least if you buy it ! FSH appears to be comprehensive. I noticed you are looking to get insured on this.I see your driving history is; First car, just passed/due to pass test, Birmingham postcode,Male, 20 years old. NCB zero. 2.9 24v. I would say many, many thousands of £'s and some to drive between the hours of 14:00 and 14:01 on a Sunday only   ;D

good luck, the white one has rather too many miles (see I make it hard for myself). The last two saloons I bought were both under 75k...but then they are not estates, are they! Middle name Picky, me.

Thats the one  ;D my mom drives our scorpio so i might be able to get insurance down a bit with 2 drivers? Said he will give 500 for ours leaving 795 so thats why we are trying to get to it and get cash asap  ;D

Daniel that's a good p/x price with 165k on the clock. Oh yes, check the cossie on start up for chain rattle. WOT, helps with this on start up.  Also, especially on the estates. Rear frame corrosion and both rear shocks are good as self levelling ones can be expensive to replace. Good luck

Wide Open Throttal

if you burry your foot on the accelerator when starting it wont fire, just crank over, this allows the oil pressure to build up first
