Hey Dan

Don't know whether or not sorting the problems will make any difference.   My second car has no-rust, and all electrics work, it polishes up a treat, and has MOT till Oct Tax till end of August only 114k miles and there's no takers and I was offered £350 on ebay which I wouldn't take.   There are people that say the 2.0ltr Differential is worth £200 alone, but that's a crock of crap, it's just a selling-point for those trying to boost it's worth.   In your position I would be tempted to break the car and keep any bits that will change over with the 24V there are loads!   Then offer-up the rest of the bits for sale on here, you may get some bites.   I was lucky, the car I took was the same colour as my perfect car, and I've exchanged a good few bits with the donor, leaving the spare car still in great condition.   Unfortunately no-one wants these cars outside the people on here, I,ve spent a few quid advertising my spare car with absolutely no interest, and if the guys on here have a good running car which most have they don't need a second one, not unless it's for spares like me.   Sad business I know, but theses cars go on ebay even with a ticket and tax for a lot less than £300!   Just my opinion of course   8)

Peter, the diff from the 2.0ltr are 4:27 ratio, ideal for the banger / rally boys, I sold the one off my doner for £100 to someone on here in Coventry, I was fed up of climbing over it/moving it around in the shed so it had to go, I could have put it on the bay and possibly got  more but I couldn't be ar**d

Aye Rodders, I ken that the diff is 4.27, and I ken why it's supposed to be valuable, but reality says it's only worth anything if someone needs one, just like the whole car.   There were two 4.27 diffs on ebay near the beginning of the month, as far as I could ascertain neither of them sold, and one was on a reserve of £220.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/LAST-ONE-Ford-Scorpio-4-27-Ratio-7-5-Diff-Differential-NON-LSD-/320908104380?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item4ab79d12bc

I wonder how much he's really getting for those diffs?   We'll never know.

Hi mate
Yeah i am sure i could make more from stripping it but im not very good at that sort of thing so wouldnt want to wreck it trying  :D The only way that could work is to ask people to take parts off but then storage is a problem now with 2 cars on drive on ebay now until i think 8pm if it dont sell will relist for £350 32 watchers and not 1 vewing or serious offer  ::) It is a shame people go and spend well more then £400 and what do they get for it not very much old rover or mondeo >:(
Anyway we will see how it goes.

Aye Dan.

It's a sad state of affairs.   I'm sure yours is just like mine, a couple hundred quid spent on her and she'd be near perfect for an older car.   Mine has the older 'tear-drop' type alloys, and is only a 2.0ltr but the big thing is no-rust.  I'm still thinking of putting mine through a test in August which I'm sure it will pass no-problem, but I'm equally sure no-one will purchase it even for the same sort-of £575ono.   I wonder if it's worth the money for the years ticket!

It will break my heart to 'bust-up' Aunty, but I aint running two of them!

Yeah think it's a case now only enthusiasts are interested. Few years ago used to see several where I live (South Essex), rarely see any at all now. Them's that had one most probs traded it in for something newer as second hand prices have dropped over time for the latter.

I'm jealous Daniel!   Well done.   You've saved another Scorpio, and you got a good enough price.   You can now concentrate on the single car.

I could go a little baser and say the colour of the upholstery would be of benefit being as it won't show stains so readily!    ;D
