Title: 24V Scorpio Ultima Estate for Sale
Post by Gingerbeer on Aug 7th, 2017, 11:18am
Hello,
I am having to sell my Scorpio so if anyone is interested please message me. I will miss the old girl but I hope she goes to a good home with someone off here.
Cheers
Colin

Dropbox is not very clear so if you want a higher res version I can send you the MP4 to view.
The car is in Herefordshire.

N REG 1996 Scorpio Ultima 24v Cosworth Estate in Petrol Blue
MOT until 23rd Oct 2017
129,000 Miles
I have had the car about 7 years and she has been a good car.
Engine and Gearbox (with sport and E mode) are good with the usual 24v (sometimes) cam chain rattle on start up. What I have always done, is start it and then immediately switch off. Wait until the oil light comes back on and restart and all is smooth. I am sure this helps with avoiding cam chain problems.
This has been a good comfortable car that will eat the miles up.
Black leather seats are all good and fitted with electric front seats of course.
It had a new steering rack unit fitted a few years ago.
The rear shocks have been renewed but not with self levelling ones. They are actually Sierra Estate shocks and they do the job well. I also have a spare new set of those if the buyer is interested at cost price. I recently took a large freezer to the dump with no problem at all.
One wishbone has been renewed and I have a brand new one for the other side if the buyer is interested at cost price.
The water pump was fitted new a few years ago so should have a good amount of life left.
Engine temp is good so thermostat (an expensive item) is working well.
It had a new radiator a couple of years ago all the way from America.
Brakes all work well.
Quite a few miles left in the rear tyres (still legal) and the fronts are very good.
Alloys quite good.

Features.
6 CD changer in boot in good working order.
‘Wood’ trimmed CD / Radio unit. Code in handbook. Good condition with no track skipping.
Auto dipping wing mirror.
Electric windows with ‘one touch’

Problems.
Air conditioning has not worked for a long time and the climate control has a mind of it’s own.
I can’t get the head lining to stay up properly.
The paintwork is reasonable for the age but not perfect.
There is rust developing on the sills, the arches and under the back window.
Airbag light on sometimes.

Colin the year, model, and a description together with some photos and an idea of where you are located would be helpful. If it has faults then, again, listing them would help a prospective purchaser.

Car is now sold to a good home.
The gentleman that bought the Scorpio is going to do the car up into as 'new condition' and as I was very fond of the car, I am very pleased with the end result of her going to a good home.
Thank you Nick.
It's been an "interesting" 7 years ownership.
