Title: Another cos saloon pops out of hiding
Post by Torbayboy on Jul 20th, 2019, 9:13am
Another cos saloon pops out of hiding, bit unusual on S plate.

Reg'd dec 98 built july 97, didn't think the cossies took that long to sell!

On at 3 grand - sells for £?, perhaps last of the aubergines? may/ may not have puddle lighs and coolant sensor working, my saloon was same build date and had facelift grille and no lights etc, looks clean car so why not do the wheel arch?
Been laid up for 5 years so may need coaxing to get going.

Still looking for a nice clean 4 cylinder scorpio prefer early and estate preferable- money waiting
Roy

Aye, the first one I don't like for the wheels alone.   I think the owner of this car isn't a Scorpio person at all.   I suspect both rear arches are goosed.   He talks about £5000 + examples...............really?  I also don't like the steering-wheel cover!   I'd be worried about the near-side front-end going by the MOT's.

The second car is................in my opinion a better bet.   I'd offer about £750 cash for this car.............he/she won't get better.   The bumpers are incidental, and as long as the chassis has been repaired properly from 2007 MOT then it would be an ok car.   Mind you, we all need to remember, that the faults with these cars are wide, and in some cases so expensive that any car like these two can look very good, and be a total piece of rubbish.   I'd go for the second car, but only if you had the money up to the first car to spend to fix it.

A real Scorpio person would't use Granada in the description. :) :)

Hi Tenfut,
How right you are a real scorpio owner (like me) ;D  abbreviates it to "the G word" & apologises for mentioning them.

Must say I agree with Peter the blue R reg cos is the better bet BUT you wonder what's been driving it as those bumpers are shattered badly considering it's been inside and stored, bearing in mind last mot was 2012 and a lot can happen to a stored scorpio in 7 years.

The under bonnet area appears to have been power washed :o and has no battery cover.

Anyone want a project??
