Title: OBD Leads - latest
Post by daven on Apr 8th, 2004, 11:16am
Don't get excited :o

How many of you would like an OBD lead?

I may repeat may be looking to get some next month!

I would try and set up a way of someone - maybe Eric R if he wouldn't mind holding the money (He lives not too far from me!) so you know it is safe!

They are cheaper in lots of 15 apparently and I may be able to get them sent from USA as a gift so saving a bit on postage!

If there is enough interest I would ask for a kind of pledge to be sent to me to avoid any problems - not that I don't trust, I just don't have the cash to cover loss!

Cheers

Daven

No - they are closed for the holiday, but normally are $122 before discount + P&P, but not sure what the post will be as I would be getting sent to someone in the USA, who will either bring them back or send them as a gift saving import duties (close your eyes Mr customs!!)

Only getting numbers at the moment so I can find out more details!

This is a very good idea, Daven.
And it pays to order your leads in this way - everyone will make a good saving.
The OBD lead is an essential item in every Scorpio owners' toolbox - it pays for itself in one reading!

Hi Daven

Any idea on the price.??
I would be interested in one. If you do go Ahead and order them you could always sell them at the derby meet to anyone interested, But get names first.
Cheers

Post by daven on Apr 10th, 2004, 5:21pm
The programme is available to download, But I can burn it to CD if anyone need to!

Can I ask anyone who is interested to read the pages on the main site, just so you know what its about (if you have not already!)

http://www.obd-2.com/ is the place I will be getting them from!

4 Definites a 2 possibles so far! Ideally we need 15!

I can't afford to buy many as 'stock' = but as its easter there may be more interest next week!

Cheers

Daven

hi there

it'll work with most 'older' laptops which have a serial port. you can get it to work with 'newer ones' via a usb port, but it needs an adapter.

Okay guys - I have a price from Alex Peper $1326 USD which at current rates equates to £745 GBP at today’s rate! That is £49.67 each before postage this side of the pond + import and VAT duties.

Gift rate is only allowed on items under £36 GBP so I am unable to give a final cost (Typically with C&E there are many rules about import and VAT, I have been told you can claim VAT back but have not have this confirmed!)

I would think that a good estimate is to allow £70 - this may well change as we go.

If you are still interested please IM me your email address - I will then set up a group and communicate direct and agree a way forward!

Cheers

Daven

Hi All

Has anyone seen this site:

http://www.andywhittaker.com/ecu/obdii_hardware.htm

or this one

http://www.qcontinuum.org/obdgauge/

because they seem much cheaper than what you are trying to get, or is this something completely different?

Jerry

Hi Jerry - thanks the first link seems to only sell the ISO version not the PWM one the scorpio uses!

The one we are getting is tried and tested so at least we know it works!
