Title: Board and list Rules?
Post by daven on May 11th, 2004, 8:31am
To Steve, Pete and Eric

Could you please remind us of the 'rules' of posting to the forum and mailing list?

Other forums sometimes have this posted permanently - maybe you could do the same, just so we don't get over enthusiastic and get carried away! :)

You all put a lot of time and effort into the site, which I know we are all grateful for and I'm sure none of us want to upset the balance!

Regards

Dave

That's my point - what are the rules (apart from the usual!)?

I think common sense - no profanity and general respect for the aims of the site - ie - Ford scorpio should be the main topics of discussion.

Why was the question asked ??

Well lets just say idle curiosity!

I know the board is well moderated but if I was to post a link that could be classed as spam (as an example - I have no intention of doing so! ;)) would I be barred even if it was about cars?

The buying and selling sections could also be a bit of a mine field - are there any restrictions?

Just asking thats all - no hidden agenda!

Cheers

Daven

Eric is currently doing a new page on the site History and will be adding the List and Forum Rules. These are periodically posted to all List members.

Basic rules of courteousness and civility to other members is the order of the day. Many other sites have been ruined by continual bickering, squabling and critisising other members and to prevent this here we do operate a strict policy of enforcement against bad behaviour. We are not prepared to have the actions of a rogue few spoil the site for the majority of excellent Members.

Remember that all the information on the site is for free, there is no membership fee and many hundreds if not thousands of hours have gone into the site by Eric, Steve, myself and others so a little courtesy to the Founders is always appreciated. The information on the site has taken many years to source and provide and we acknowledge the grateful assistance of FMC Europe in making many of their copyright diagrams and information available to us, something that is unprecedented in any other Ford auto website.

So the site didn't just happen, it has been a labour of love and all that we as Founders ask is civility and courtesy.

Eric's new page on the site history and listing members rules will be up shortly.

Enjoy the site.

Pete c

Thanks Pete - copyright must be a constant headache!

I for one do enjoy the site and am grateful for you guys and all the other members who come here seemingly just to help!

Cheers

Just out of curiosity, are the 'iffy' words censored by admin or by software? reason i ask is i once put something about an engine that 'ran like a bag of s---' and it got changed to 'the engine was rubbish'  I figured if that was software it must be one hell of a program!!
