hi there

i haven't used gtx for ages now, although at the time it was fine. don't think it's SAE 5W-30 though (16 valve engine). i'm using halfords own brand SAE 5w-30 oil. can't say i'm impressed. one of them nothing wrong with it, but nothing right with it! :-/ next change will be with havoline energy (texaco) SAE 5W-30. £15 for 5 litres at asda/wal-mart.

regards

ps. ford 'should' try and sell you formula E (recommended), but at about £25-£30 for 5 litres, it would take some sales person for me to pay that! :o

the garage you used would of used semi synthetic, they always do,when i first took mine in there i said use fully synthetic, they said if it was a 24v cosworth, yes they would, but for the 2.0,and the 2.3,they use a semi one, which brand it is,i dont know, but can find out if you wish...

When in doubt, go full synthetic.
