Delete this is if it is inappropriate - I don’t mind.

We have got a copy of BBC's Top Gear from 1995 where a fairly young Clarkson puts the 'new Scorpio' through its paces and compares it to the Rover (they get a right slating!), Audi and Vauxhall..

Not as critical as you would expect and he actually sings the cars praises. It comes down to the look.. He has a go at Ford for that :)

The car is a M reg Scorpio 24v Saloon.

We have reproduced Ford videos etc before but before I start getting these reproduced I wonder what interest would there be from this forum?

Phil,

I'd definitely be interested, especially if it was on CD. As a Mk III Scorpio owner at the time it came out I must say I hated the new look. These days, well I've seen a lot worse (including a new Rolls-Royce on the A27 the other day - yuk!). Actually, I quite like the "new" look now... just as well really.

Would love 2 see it again!! See it on tv ages ago.... if i remember right, he says something along the lines of "ford took a granada, and welded an aircraft carrier on the back" >:( heehee

if everybody downloaded bittorent we could host it and share it to everybody with broad band as a avi file. just for observation purposes only.

After all what is the internet for. My mate has a nvidia snazzy graphics card that can turn video input in to handy small good quality avi files.

DivX in other words. and yes I would love to see it that way nobody is making a physical copy of the episode.

Yeah. I would be interested in that too. I've always wanted to see a tv review of the Scorpio. DVD or CD is fine with me. Not getting broadband for another month or so, so that option is out the windown for the moment.

Make a DIVX/XVID file of it :D, takes a smal hour by the PC (and a TVinnput)... ::)

With 10Mb/sec fiber line it does not take long to download.. ;D

As I mentioned earlier, and now I've just ordered a VCR/DVD Combi. Tosiba from Amazon which plays divX files for my birthday.

This weekend, Sunday is when I plan to copy on to VHS and then see how much time i have to copy onto Compurter for DVD's..

I dont have any intention of uploading it to webspace etc.. We used to do that and we blew our bandwidth quota often.. There will be a small cost involved to cover materials postage and a small donation to the GSO site which i pay for out of my own pocket :)

Right made a copy - it lasts 10 mins so not sure on how I am going to distribute it.. I might add it to some other footage I have of Granadas and 24v's...

I dont mind spending the time on the copying but there is an expense on materials and postage..

I am going to convert it to digital come the weekend and see what the quality is like. I have a capture card but the quality doesnt seem all that.

May I just hop on the bandwagon as it were, i'd love to see that review. I was only eleven years old at the time of the programme so even if I saw it it would have been in one ear and out the other. Little would I have known, that would be the car i'd be obsessing over six years later, and eight years later actually owning : )

the old footage of Granadas, 24v's, etc. sounds very interesting as well. The full compilation sounds like a good idea. If you go ahead with this, just let us know what cost is needed for postage, time, expertise etc.

Well its not gonna be more than a tenner.

At the moment the costs are around £5 - £6 then i would expect to get a few quid and stick it in our server account. Thats how most of the things I flog work out.

I have been so busy recently that I just have not had the time to complete this piece of work and get it loaded into the Collectibles Shop..

I am trying to think of when I will and to be honest I dont think it will be till next week!

I would be interested. Recently got a '96 Cossie. Had the 2.9 Granada Scorpio '91. Had the 2.8i Ghia X 1984. Had a 3.0 GXL '73. Only one left would be the 3.0 Ghia Coupe from '70's.....I missed that one about 10 years ago. Good to find a sight dedicated to probably the best car Ford ever made. ;D

Why not tell people to e-mail you with thier full name and address(so you know who is serious)and then they send you a self addressed jiffy bag (so no worries about distribution!)and to include in it any costs and profit for your efforts!

Our video packed up some time ago, and we never did replace it, so it might be tricky watching the old VHS.

Would be interested ;D (dvd). I do like Clarkson, as he doesn't say things to keep the manufacturers happy but what he thinks and if thats controversial makes so be it. I realise he isn't everyones cup of tea though.

Nealy there guys. I went and bought some sh*t hot capturing software today.. Now the capture card has come into its own.. What gets on my nerves is the software bundled with the card does not do what it says.. It has taken me ages to work out but now I am on the finishing straight.. Just gonna get the video ready and then time to edit at burn!

Yes I`d be interested too thns I used to be an avid fan of Top Gear and the team dont get a chance now sadly.
But yes on CD if possible. Incidentally,should anyone have the same thing about the Mk 3 facelift Granada Scorpio I`d be interested in that too.

Got my DVD yesterday :)

Loved the ABS demonstration. I always fancied trying it out like that. What a fantastic invention this was.

And all those Mk3 Grannies all nice & new. I still like them you know. Mind you, I love the Scorpio too. Old Jezza was OK with it, but someone should've told him to knock the O/D off and punch it! ;D

I've had another watch of mine and I now have a question...
In the section on the Granada Ghia, when the nice man's showing us the buttons for electric windows and "the lock-out switch for the rear windows"... there's another button just up behind that. Just before where the heated seat ones would be. It has a picture of a car on it.
My Granada never had this button and I've never seen it on another. Maybe its a common thing that I've just never seen before, I don't know.
Anyway... can someone tell me what it does? ::)

at the time of broadcast i had a granny and thought the new version was s..t,now i think it was a design classic,

I was testing the software out with the Justin Timberlake/ Queen - Another one bites the dust riff.... :D

I can't remember the softwares name something like WINDVD Creator or something.. Then I use Roxio CD Copier to burn the DVD's my DVD drive seems to be slow at the moment and I can not get a burn speed of over x2 - I am sure it should be x4
