Looks like the shape of a Skoda Supreme, or a long Passat.

No Offence!! ;D

Look at the roof line and general shape.

Well Norton enjoyed that little video. There were dozens of warnings of blocked intrusions flash up on my screen! Made it virtually un-watchable  :(
Would love to see one of these in the flesh though.

Thats why the video kept stopping! I SEE...

I use Norton and Zonealarm, Zonealarm blocks them silently before Norton gets a chance.

I'm sorry Never talk of Skoda again or Passat.

The car is very impressive, I've seen the full video at work now and it is a bruit of a car,
All wheel drive 3litre V6 on Volvo inspired chassis, ooppss I mentioned Volvo sorry I know its a ford, the car could do with a European touch because it does look very American no offence but the Scorpio still looks better, although its nice, It will probley come over here with a TDCi, 2.0, 2.3 and 2.9 Cossie versions Haha ;D
and Scorpio front and back!
I wish ;)

Well 203 bhp from the 3 litre , cvt transmission or six speed auto make for interesting combinations. Looks like a Volvo S90 platform so it should be bomp proof in ENCAP testing

CVT first appeared in Daf44 in Holland and then the Mk2 Fiesta 1.1.  Interesting fact was that in reverse you had the same performance as in Drive, same 0-60 and same top speed, though in time I think they put some sort of limiter on it.

People talked about common styling clues with Passat and Mondeo, thats what you get if you use computer aided design and you factor in x amount of head room and y drag efficeincy.

Has anybody got any info on actual size / dimensions or the 500?

Interesting specs include zone climate control and 6cd changer, fold down back seats. Well I wonder where I have heard that sort of spec before.

Actually bearing in mind Ford desire to grow market shares in Japan and Australia we could see a left hand drive version for those markets. So if you wanted one and it did not come to Europe you could consider a personal import from Japan or Australia in two or three years time.

I suspect that we may not see it in UK unless Ford rethink their none compete with Jaguar in this class.

Actually I might like one as a run about...apart from the honeycomb grille  :)

Yes, can't see it coming here as we are all too 'badge conscious'. That's what killed the Scorpio in the first place. Also, is it me or does the rear look just like a Honda?

As for the Audi/VW/Skoda connection, one of the chief designers for them left just after the Passat and Octavia were designed and worked on the new Mondeo, hence the similar designs of them.

And the top of the range model with all wheel drive and the 'Limited' spec comes out at $25,000 - that's £13,000 for heavens sake!!

You can pick up the 2wd lower specs for around £11k

I also saw that the Dodge Magnum (Estate) which is coming to the UK in 2006 under the Chrysler brand and which retails in the US for $30k (£16,500) with all wheel drive and a 5.7 V8 (340bhp) is 'expected to sell at around £35,000 when released for sale in the UK' - I really don't see how they can justify the differences in car prices between the UK and US.
