Bad news guys :-/ :-/ :-/???

The neighbour called me - Fire Brigade outside

Some $%^&*#$ had tried to steal my car

Could Not - So Torched it instead :-/ Its completely burnt out >:( >:( >:( >:( >:(

Very disappointed and sad - it was my pride and joy

The Cossie was a lemon - I did not buy it

Its my 2.0L that was vandalised and arson - one owner 54000 on the clock - Mot Sep 2005 - absolute immaculate

I am so fed up about this

really do hope all works out for you,easy to say,hard to do,but DONT let it get you down,ok struggle to replace the car,but it CAN be replaced,dont give them the satisfaction of your "gloom"...

This is real sad news... I deeply sympathise with you Michael, I hope they have some leads and catch the things that did it.. mind you they'll probably just be juveniles and get a slap on the wrists anyway.

The car was a 1996 2.0L 16V Ultima - Auto - 54000 on the clock - New Battery fitted 6 months ago - New steering rack and full assembly fitted two months ago .

The recovery people says its most likely totalled - write off

An insurance engineer / assessor will give his report on Tuesday 16th November

I may be able to get the wreck for GBP 200 if I ask - problem is - I have no where to keep it

It would be great for spares - mechanically it was perfect
Bodywork - panels - boot excellent - alloys etc etc etc

As a keepsake - I have kept the remote and very fond memories

So, current situation one burnt :-[ car with good bits to repair other ;D car but no where to keep them or do this!!Any suggestions? ???

Sorry Captain, I changed my original post obviously after you read it. I have a spare 2L auto that needs gearbox and steering rack, but is otherwise generally good. You can have it free if it helps, and we could find somewhere to do the work.

Plans got changed - I was in Europe - Portugal and Holland a week - off to Africa 23rd Nov

If plans had gone as planned - my car would have been in storage - When I go out of UK for more than a week - I put the car in friends garage

I use two different postings to differentiate postings /topics

Just Call me Captain was just for Weston Super Mare and Badges and stickers - with associated emails

Gutted to here about this. It's just unbelievable what these low-life scum think they can get away with these days >:( >:( >:(

Hopefully they'll get caught - nah, forget that, it never happens :-/. Would be nice to set up some stocks at WSM 2005 and pelt them with rotting crud though - and then give 'em a kicking they won't forget.

If you was closer to me you could have stored it in my workshop & repaired it to its former glory as long as no paint has been burnt off (metal weakened) but I guess it would never be the same . . .

Just wanted to add my commiserations, :( I've been in the same situation with a fully restored '67 Mk1 Mini Cooper S, was so gutted that I never replaced it... I've regretted it ever since. There are some fabulous Scorpio Ultimas about, just a matter of time... My advice, buy a £350 Mk3 as a stop-gap, & find the car of your dreams at your leisure!

Decided not to take a pic of the B O W - it would make me angry and fed up to look at it

Its gone but not forgotten - The B O W was a very sad

Suggest you do take pic of BOW then if you find out who did it you could nail the picture to their forehead.

Michael, I have been browsing the forum and have just read about your car being torched. I am so sorry.
Some society we live in!! Decency does not exist for some people. I hope the police find them, or is that too much to hope for these days?
