Hi guys can you put me right here, at present I am tracking a Saloon 1998 Ultima, the guy describes this as having a 2.3 engine, my question is did the Ultimas ever come with 2.3 dohc, if they did then please excuse my ignorance.

Hi,

yes they came with a 2.3 engine. This engine came out later than the others (in 1998 I think?), the "others" being a 2.0 8 valve (very early on), a 2.0 16 valve, 2.5 TD, 2.9 12 valve and 2.9 24 valve Cosworth.

the 2.3 DOHC engine was introduced in 1996 and was eventually to take over from the discontinued 2.9 12v and later theDOHC 2.0l .
