Thanks Dave,

I picked it up for £1500 with a years MOT ;)
Seems to have all the extras on it too
a few minor things wrong that i'm slowly putting right, including

dash bulbs out
indicator lens broken (need a OSF one)
drivers door pocket broken off
bonnet catch broken
headlamp washers blocked (fairy liquid i think!!!)
couple of little scratches

runs great, getting 25-28mpg with it so far

Would have loved it in the Estate (some people are never happy!!) :)

Hmm the price doesn't upset me too much cos I got mine cheapish (ended up about the same as yours once all the work was done though!!) but the MPG you are getting is making me a bit jealous!  :-[ Is that all motorway miles with the wind behind you?!  ;)

The majority of it is motorway runs yes (very light footed motorway runs!!) :)

the first week i had it i averaged 16!! and i'm sure i will again ;)

Thank goodness for that - nearly had to have a lie down then  ;) Think 16mpg was my average for the first week or two. Or three. That Cosworth lump does sound nice!  :D

Welcome Highlander

I am only a 2.9 12v and I would love your mpg. ::)

Such a young chap as well.  Do you really stick to the speed limits by choice?  Or does your Username tell us something.  ;)

Regards

Rod

Welcome to the website highlander, you've grabbed yourself a decent motor there by the looks of it.

The sound of the cossie, yes that's something i would appreciate as the 2.5TD doesn't quite sound the same! ;) :D

ive been trying to see what i could get mpg wise over the last couple of weeks so i have been taking things easy but once the novelty of that wears off it will back to business as usual no doubt :)

I love the admiring looks followed closely by the "what is it" look as they try to read the badge :D

Yep that is good. My neighbour still thinks it is a Granada, and I think she was a bit miffed that the engine was bigger than in her brand new Audi (2.4)  ;D

Maybe,

but look on the bright side...you could have paid 8 or 9 grand for an equivilant BMW or Merc, still had problems and still had to fork out big money for repairs!! I know what I prefer!
