About 10 minutes ago a (refrained comment) man backed his skip lorry into the back of my parked scorp and damaged/cracked the rear bumper. Naturally he drove off smartly but I was in the upstairs bay window and saw him do it. So did a builder who is working nearby.

So now the back of the car matches the front where there is a hole in that bumper (caused by some other unknown person in the station car park).

My question is, is it the car or is it me they are all after.

No, I couldn't get out of the house fast enough to catch him or get his number but I have been onto the firm and Sally, the boss(!!), has rung me back requesting a letter and photograph which they will send to their brokers.

I reckon it could be opportune to sort out both bumpers if I can find someone who will do a BOGOF for a poor sod like me. Then I can wash it properly and regain some pride. :'( :'(

Just been telling the ladyfriend.

She says that we should get our book finished quickly and buy a castle with a maot and a draw bridge to keep the bug....s out.

In the meantime she suggested that I replace the scorp with a horse and cart but I explained that in this area I would get up in the morning to find the cart nicked and the horse standing on four bricks!

I'm surprisingly calm really .....................but............

I STILL DON'T BELIEVE IT

Barry - you've got my drift exactly.

But, being an honest guy, (honest!), I am not sure of how I could wangle it.

The girl friend has reminded me that I also need a new inside automirror (the 'stuff' has dribbled out and marked around the gear lever.)

I was talking to a friend last week just before my trip - Her car got totalled in the local Tesco car park.

Their was a woman reversing out trapped her foot between the throttle and brake - instant whammy and my friends car was totalled both sides of the car scraped - dented and pushed in and the car was a complete and utter mess and mangled

The first thing she knew about it was a message on the tannoy - Would the person with Car REG XXXX Please go to Customer Services - She was then given the bad news.

Needless to say she was shocked by the total debacle but fortunately nobody was injured but it could have been very different if someone was in the flight path

Don't go via your ins company, threaten with civil action for damage to your property, privatly and tell your ins co you were hit while parked but you will recover your losses yourself (new parts of course, get 2 quotes)...............it's working for me ;D When YOU get the cheque, do what you like with the money ;)

I didnt realise when i saw newbie and different details .. your bumper and mirror is still packed < I have never let anything happen to it ..as you were promised it .. > the rear bumper is there too.. in aubergine.. apologies for not twigging that it was you mate ..and hope you're both well in all other ways !! .. regards ....STN
