Title: New Pages!
Post by Eric_R on Apr 2nd, 2005, 9:16pm
Folks,
New pages now up.

Changing headlight glass - http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/headglass.htm - SimonMD shows us where the clips are on the headlamp unit.

Next - David shows us some research on the use of LEDs instead of ordinary bulbs on an instrument panel. http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/ledbulbs.htm  You need never have to change an instrument bulb again!

The first of the new Meets pages: scorpio_man sent us this report of the First Scottish.
http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/northern05.htm

Thanks guys!

Can't believe Andrew only went that far for a meet. Normally it is a good 3 day round trip!

What did you recognise first Craig... your car or the side of your house?   ;)

to be honest paul,i didn't at first..
i re-read the article (and to be honest,if simon had not of discovered that,i would never of done the headlights),then right at the bottom,i thought, simon had the same colour car as me,and again,i haven't seen to many scorpio's in that colour (plenty of mondeo's ;)).
then when i saw the house as well.. :o :o....

wait untill i do the bumper as well... :) :)
job done i think..!! ;D ;D

Nice one Eric.
Like the idea of long lasting bulbs in the dash! That airbag worries me,the less I have to remove the steering wheel the better! At the moment I'm running on one bulb behind 80mph to light the whole panel! :o Building up the courage to replace the bulbs again :-/  These Led's may be the answer.
                   thumbs up mate.

Is the car yours?  sorry, I thought it was Simon's.

Sorry about that, Craig, my fault.  Simon was just using the pic as an illustration of the finished result and I assumed the car was his.  Never mind, no harm done.

Could you send the text and pics for the updated bumper and I'll do a page for it.  Lots of owners have asked about this.

Headlights glass page updated.

Thanks.

Dart,
Not sure why you would need to remove the steering wheel - you can get the fascia off without taking the wheel off - just lower the steering wheel and pull it forward on the rake & reach adjuster.

If you do need to, there's no problem, as long as you disconnect the battery for at least 20 minutes before you unplug the airbag - this allows the capacitor charge to dissipate and prevents the bag from firing accidentally; if you're too close to it when it does it can spoil your whole day.  :o

The last time I changed the bulbs in the dash I did'nt remove the wheel!when I mentioned this on the site to someone with the same problem I was cried down for it!
Sometimes,a little common sense and logic go farther than going by the book,to the letter.hope you notice the frustration, when a gob of spit and a length of string(and ingenuity)can go a long way to solving a problem! :)

Hi, i changed the full front facia on mine without removing the steering wheel, i was having problems with the heater/aircon blower fan.  Went to a breakers for parts, but would only sell full facia for £40, so thought not a problem, i think Ford wanted about £250. It took me about 3-4 hours too change it all, my bigest problem was my own disabilities
