Just wanted to say Hello, you have a really good site here.
Two weeks ago I purchased a very nice 1996 2.9 12v Ultima saloon, its just a lovely car to drive. I"ve previously owned several MK1,2 and 3 Granada"s over the years, but the Scorpio Ultima is the best car i"ve ever had the pleasure to drive.
The previous owner spent a lot of money on her, replacing autobox,radiator,air con and a lot of other bits and bobs,and seven years of amazingly expensive servicing at Ford Dealers, so for me this is good! But its the first time i"ve ever bought a car from someone who was really sad to see it go,said it was the best car he ever had! Oh Well forward I go,

The 12v is a good every day slogger, Not got the get up and go of the 2.3 or 24v models but lasts the course.... I have the 12v Ultima with 107 K just come back from a trip to France 2000 miles and never missed a beat.. Keep it well oiled and changed regularily and it will I am sure provide youwith a lot of happy trouble free motoring.

I"m in Preston,Lancashire but originally from Scotland.
In fact I"m off up there for a few days in the scorp, nice 700 mile round trip, should be fun!

Hi donnie, I went to the Isle of Bute, just got back now. 702miles perfect run. Dont" know the price of unleaded in Inverness, but on Bute 90p! a litre. yippes!
its only 81.2 near my home.

85.9 here in tesco, 86.9 in bp / shell / esso...

its not cheap, AND im only averaging 24.3 mpg at the moment, need to look into that :-/

Going off advice I found on this site, I switched to super unleaded ie Shells optimax or BP ultimate, and found I got Improved performance and More mpg!
It"s more expensive @ 89.9p a litre here in Preston but worth it.
